Hellen I like the storyline of this show,it attract me so much
Redwarmin This movie is the proof that the world is becoming a sick and dumb place
CrawlerChunky In truth, there is barely enough story here to make a film.
Michelle Ridley The movie is wonderful and true, an act of love in all its contradictions and complexity
angeleyesbblue Boring is an understatement. Don't waste your time. I think I lost brain cells watching this movie. It was absolutely terrible!!!
ben hibburd Bug is directed by William Friedkin. The film is written for the screen by Tracey Letts adapting her own stage play. The film tells the story of Agnes White(Ashley Judd), who is holed up In a motel room by her lonesomeness. That is until she makes acquaintance with a paranoid former army veteran Peter Evans(Michael Shannon).Bug is primarily an actors film. Friedkin doesn't try to be flashy with his direction. He's restraint and allows the camera to focus on the two central characters of the film. Both Ashley Judd and Michael Shannon deliver career best performances. They give everything they have to their characters, as both characters delve into paranoia induced insanity. The film wouldn't have worked if one actor was carrying the other but thankfully they both elevate each others performances.Where this film really shines though, is In the fantastic editing. This film is a stripped back, visceral piece of Cinema. It's a film that keeps building tension, scene after scene with raw Intensity. It holds absolutely nothing back, from the moment the two characters meet the film grips you and never lets go until the credits roll.Bug is a film that the average film-goer may struggle with, and for good reason, it's a nihilistic edge of the seat thriller, that deals with mental health Issues. It's a film that delves into the darkest recesses of the human mind, and keeps it's audience in an intense stasis for the duration of the film. It's the type of film that seldom gets made anymore, the closet film I can think of tonally would be David Cronenberg's Crash. Bug is an incredibly rewarding film, should you Invest your time in it. It's an under-seen hidden gem that is waiting to be discovered again.
mpurvismattp I see some like this movie and some who don't but I think everyone can agree Ashley Judd and Michael Shannon killed it (no pun intended) in this flick. I really enjoyed this wild ride, such an unexpected and unique story which leaves you wondering what will happen next. Harry Connick jr. was also fantastic as the Prickly, abusive ex husband Jerry Goss and just added to the cornucopia of fine acting performances. If you enjoy the strange tales of the where the human mind may wander (eg: Requim for a dream, Momento, any Darren Aronofsky movie really I guess) then you will enjoy this. I really can't say enough good things about the casting and the overall quality of this film, check it for yourself and see.
Uriah43 "Agnes White" (Ashley Judd) is a waitress at a bar in a small town in Oklahoma who has suffered some painful experiences in her life. While shopping in a grocery store her child was kidnapped and she still grieves for her loss. To top that off her abusive husband, "Jerry Goss" (Harry Connick Jr.) has just gotten out of prison and he is coming back very soon. Then one night one of her few friends "R.C." (Lynn Collins) invites a stranger by the name of "Peter Evans" (Michael Shannon) to the motel room where Agnes lives. He is definitely different. Anyway, rather than disclose the rest of the film and possibly spoil the movie for those who haven't seen it I will just that I was totally unprepared for what happens next. Wow! Ashley Judd was nominated for a Saturn Award for "Best Actress" and the director (William Friedkin) won an award for his work at the Cannes Film Festival. At any rate, while this movie is certainly not to everybody's taste I think those who enjoy films that tend to get a little bizarre might really like this one. Above average.
