Diagonaldi Very well executed
Solemplex To me, this movie is perfection.
MamaGravity good back-story, and good acting
Nicole I enjoyed watching this film and would recommend other to give it a try , (as I am) but this movie, although enjoyable to watch due to the better than average acting fails to add anything new to its storyline that is all too familiar to these types of movies.
Cinematador They used to show films like this in art houses, which became retail space for drugstores. The tone, story, and camera work is impeccable. Details like the faded boxes and impossible sunflowers remain with us forever. The amber necklace becomes the collection, the story, the film, but only after.Due to translation or what remains unspoken, much of the conversation hangs unfinished in the air, or done with eye -even from Sammy Davis. Every character carries out a critical part of the story, with minimal dialogue. Each time the day dawns, the story moves forward. As with the Jarmusch movie Paterson, this film is like a poem about the source material. Rather than simply trying to replicate the book, the movie pays homage by creating its own rich space and mood.
Nishant Nagar It was basically a movie about 1-cultural misunderstanding and how people can be cruel without really knowing it. 2-How important our past is and how it is responsible for our current situtaion/condition and how it effects our view-point. Jonathan safran was a curious and disciplined man who has an obsessive- compulsive nature.Through him and his journey to his past Movie tells us how our past effect our thoughts, our views. We are unaware about the reasons behind the happenings of everything in your life. Why certain things effects you but some not?Actually we all unknowingly carry our past somewhere inside us or within our memory all along with us in our journey of life and this inside phenmenon effects our outside world which is called "Inside-Out".Most of us simply says "Past is just Past".But actually Past is the base/responsible factor of our present. We should know our past and analyze it deeply becuz this'past/memory' is what we all achieves in our life.Whatever You gain, you gain Inside.Freedom is not an external thing, it's an internal thing. At last I can say it was a very delicate and deep movie,It touches your heart. The scene where they finally found Trachimbrod is painful and gravely affecting.Past has the power to make the world a better place as after knowing the past of jews. We all have different cultures but we all are one.We all love our birth place we all love our culture but if we don't respect other's culture then we do not deserves to be called as human.
recondoc68 Everything Is Illuminated is the most heartbreakingly beautiful and endearing film I have experienced in my 63 years of life. The performances and direction are truly exceptional. The devotion to remembrance, the love and esteem of family, and the perdurable effects of horrific inhumanity, emotional loss, and war, are drawn in a way that is sure, clear, and often subtle. I wonder if I am magnifying the worth of Schrieber's film. But, truly, I cannot in words do over justice to the emotional impact his film has had on me. I've seen the sections of Everything is Illuminated that were not included in the theatrical release. The decision to edit out the fantasy theater scene was crucial. Had that scene been gone forward, I don't believe Everything Is Illuminated would have achieved the level of haunting beauty that it possesses. He has smartly crafted a film that is classic. He has crafted in his direction and writing, a work of cinematic art.
eneguepogi I was struck by how this movie played out when I watched it. I was not expecting too much but the movie took me thru history and time traveled to the past. The cast played their part really well, special mention to Elijah and Boris for their portrayal. Story was very unique and well paced with minimal dull gaps (usually happens for indie films). Personally, I was impressed on how the director was able to make such a movie so interesting and great. I have high emotions after watching this film. Thumbs up to the actors and the people behind this movie. I would definitely recommend to all. I hope all filmmakers are able to replicate such work of art.
