Glucedee It's hard to see any effort in the film. There's no comedy to speak of, no real drama and, worst of all.

thewashingdoneproject When the new movie came out, i was excited, stunk. Then I looked at this movie again., not noticing the chemistry between the two., it stunk too. It's the best most worst romance movie maybe ever. I love it. : ) You can't buy that kind of oneness., it hid from me that the movie that it's printed on needs their help., only they can edit and enhance it now., only them., or just leave it be. Let it go, please never remake this film, ever again.
mattkratz This is a good "revenge" comedy where snobbish rich lady Goldie Hawn treats carpenter Kurt Russell like dirt after he doesn't do a job right-in fact, she pretty much treats everyone that way. After she falls off her yacht and gets amnesia, he finds her and gets revenge by reinventing her as his "wife." Hilarity ensues, as does formula. This is funny and enjoyable and a good showcase for the stars. I really liked it. The opening scenes on the yacht were my favorites, like with Hawn's disapproval over the cabinets Russell had built and the scene with the caviar. I also liked the hospital scenes. You will like it too.*** out of ****
bkoganbing Kurt Russell plays the widowed father of four boys who are as far from the Brady Bunch as you can get. He's a bit of a big kid himself who thinks just paying the bills and providing food and a roof is all that matters. In fact rich Hollywood heiress Goldie Hawn hires him to redo her shoe closet on her yacht while they are vacationing in the Pacific Northwest in the Columbia River. When it doesn't meet her most exacting standard she stiffs Russell on the $600.00 she was going to pay him. But when Goldie falls overboard in the middle of the night and acquires a case of amnesia, Kurt claims her as his bride and she goes off to become his bond servant.Strange things do happen and eventually Goldie starts really thinking she belongs with him after some rough initiation. House work and she are strangers. It's helped however by the fact she has one drip of a husband in Edward Herrmann. And her work ethic was acquired from her mother Katherine Helmond who apparently understudied with the Helmsley family.Kurt and Goldie and the 4 kid actors who play Kurt's kids in Overboard provide the best scenes in the film. Sad to say it gets so raunchy a G rating is impossible. Still the PG is there even if close to the wire. Overboard is the perfect kind of vehicle for Kurt and Goldie and their fans will eat it up.So will the rest of the movie going public.
Armand not bad script, a lot of humor, inspired cast, mark of a modern fairy tale, clash between life stiles. one of adorable films who reminds emotions and fresh state of childhood. seductive at all, chain of adventures and hilarious situations, almost crazy in few scenes, film about responsibilities and values of life, it is a good occasion for meeting the spirit of a period, a nice love story, few real good actors in a film far to have great ambitions. more than a comedy, it is interesting for the simple message. and for kids. for Ken Russell who is perfect for his role - maybe, too good - and for Goldie Hawn who use her potential in right manner.
