BlazeLime Strong and Moving!
Neive Bellamy Excellent and certainly provocative... If nothing else, the film is a real conversation starter.
Asad Almond A clunky actioner with a handful of cool moments.
Lachlan Coulson This is a gorgeous movie made by a gorgeous spirit.
Ripshin I do not demand "closure" with every film that I watch, but this thing is ridiculous.I don't like sitting through 90 minutes of a tedious flick, then being left with nothing. Yes, the director tossed a tiny "bone." The "government" knows wha's going on. Black car, etc.Just don't waste my time. And don't populate your entire film with a bunch of stupid white people.Zack Ward is an annoying actor, and apparently friends with the director, who WROTE the role for him?? Really? The screenplay is terrible. One of the streaming sites has a "trailer," which totally ruins the film - if it CAN be ruined. There is nothing genius, nor coy, about constructing a narrative, that has no conclusion. NOTE: Unless that outlying cabin has a HUGE boiler, the water would not continue to be "steaming hot," even minutes later. If animals disappear, you'd still hear noise. They show clouds moving - so WIND?? And since when do people drive to a remote destination, with no gas? Did they assume that the "lodge" has a gas pump? (And, OF COURSE, "antiquated" pumps.) . PLEASE.Seriously, there is no point to this film. It's a total mess.
Leofwine_draca DON'T BLINK is a semi-decent cabin-in-the-woods horror flick about a group of buddies who go for a weekend break only to find the log cabin hotel they're staying in mysteriously deserted. The film plays out very much as a feature-length version of a TWILIGHT ZONE or OUTER LIMITS story, as the characters react in different ways to their predicament and some of them go predictably over the edge. It's generally watchable enough, evoking a good sense of mystery, even if the characters remain unlikeable and the script descends into sweary repetitiveness towards the climax. The non-ending is a bit of a cheat, too (don't go looking for answers as you won't find any).
tracywooduk OK, this movie is far from perfect hence my rating, however is it SO much better than the 4.8 is currently has.Firstly, the acting is good. So much better than I was expecting. I was also expecting some kind of run of the mill 'slasher' type film. Don't Blink starts the same as so many other films in this genre - sexy folk heading away for the weekend in a remote area with no phone signal, running out of petrol, wanting to get frisky etc, etc. Lets all face it we have seen that a million times before. However, this is where the similarities ended. One by one the party start to disappear into thin air. No murders, no gore (almost) and no falling over in the woods whilst trying to escape. Just disappearing.I was slightly disappointed by the ending, I tend to like everything sewn up and explained. I guess this is why the score is so low.Don't Blink is definitely worth and hour and a half of anyone's time just don't expect a masterpiece.6/10
Coral Grainger This movie is Awesome! i cant believe so many people are giving it such bad reviews!I mean sure it didn't tell us how they were disappearing or whether Noah new all along, or even how Charlotte stayed alive so long at the end while the others weren't watching her. but that doesn't matter, that can be over looked! I love the idea (although kinda stealing the idea, and name from the doctor who episode with the weeping angles) the tense moments where their could be a jump scare keeps the viewer on edge, and when they pulls out guns, bits of glass and a noose its so cool! The way they made the people before look like they just up and left is a bit odd because it looks like they didn't know people where disappearing? I love the way that the characters don't stick with their typical looks, the emo chick pulls out strip poker and a bible, the sensible blonde guy has this weird glass in hand thing for no reason, the smart chick (who in any other movie would have died by now) stays till the end and looses her "dorky" look. Yeah it wasn't very obvious who was related to who, what their names where and who was married, dating, siblings, or X's but that doesn't matter, we aren't watching how these people live their ordinary lives we are watching how a group of people react when a "monster" makes them disappear. the ending is brilliant and i cant wait to forget abut this movie in a few months so i can watch it all over again fro the beginning like I've never seen it before!
