After Ben Garvey foolishly turned back to crime, he thought his life was over when he was sentenced to death by lethal injection. But his death sentence isn't quite what it seems, as Ben regains consciousness near an eerie psychiatric ward, where he's told he's been hired as the groundskeeper. With the state of his soul in question, and the love for his wife and daughter all the more real and powerful, Ben must figure out if he's truly cheated death, or if he's become part of something far more sinister.

GetPapa Far from Perfect, Far from Terrible
Abegail Noëlle While it is a pity that the story wasn't told with more visual finesse, this is trivial compared to our real-world problems. It takes a good movie to put that into perspective.
Edwin The storyline feels a little thin and moth-eaten in parts but this sequel is plenty of fun.
Scarlet The film never slows down or bores, plunging from one harrowing sequence to the next.
citizen-caveman Basically it's all about chances, choices and consequences. More specifically how rare second chances in life are. Ben is a decent family man who still manages to get involved with crime. That said, he remains a sympathetic protagonist. The film asks some pretty deep questions and the slow pace provides an opportunity to reflect on them. The story is principally set in an institution amidst leafy countryside. A place Ben is not allowed to leave. Also given the surrealism in places there are echos of The Prisoner here. Ultimately, there are echos of another production as well. The Lazarus Project is unabashedly philosophical, and perhaps a spiritual, piece minus the sort of ham-fisted didacticism found in The Box (2009).
ru1041 This is one of those movies that keep you guessing and/or confused up till the end. It could have gone either way, good or bad. You are led to believe one thing is happening (purgatory), then that something completely different is happening (mental illness) and in the last few minutes a whole different truth is reveled. In the end, I was glad to see that everything came together and the movie made sense. Although there may be a few holes in the story, I feel it was well done and thought provoking. I didn't think that it was boring or slow. The acting was acceptable. Overall I feel it was a good movie that leaves you with something to think about. Well worth a watch.
Md-khocon Mr Paul did great on this Movie. Simple acting & brilliant! Also i have found some goofs. For low budget a movie director & crews did great. Also i have seen his Hours . His all acting were simple. But i think he had some expressions on his face & talking style. This movie could be good movie if more critics were saw it. But they didn't waste their time on this movie. Line direction was very good & well written. Thanks. I think they ( Director & producers) didn't use more cameras. We don't see special effects works on this movie. Suicide of a patient before Paul's eyes, fallen from rocks was unbelievable. Overall movie was great.
jido_12345 The cast's acting is definitely not the downfall of this movie. However it was a little bit dragging, then they tried to put in the twist and it never made go "what?!" or "what is going on here?!" instead i just simply said "really?... its obvious what the reality is and what the institution is trying to do" after all its said and done, when Ben goes back home... whats next? 1. he has no identity because apparently he is dead. how can a dead man live unnoticed? 2. surely the FBI or who the hell ever is responsible will do something about a man who was sentenced to execution is now freely roaming the state of Texas.the story line was simply a disappointment, it did not make sense and it does not add up.if you haven't seen shutter island, now that/s a movie with the twist this one tried to do!
