RoboRabbit89 I first seen this, when I ordered it from my library, and I have to say this movie is good. And I was relived it was, because you know, the movie trailer makes it look good and I was glad it was. Morgan Freeman, Kevin Spacey, Ll Cool J and Justin Timerlake among others were good in this gritty cop action-thriller.As I understand it, this story is set up were the town is called Edison and it is corrupted as hell, especially with the police.Justin Timberlake is honestly good in this, as a reporter who uncovers a conspiracy about the town of Edison police. Morgan Freeman plays his boss who helps him, but they are both in danger once they try to challenge the police corruption. Kevin Spacey plays Morgan's friend who is one of the only cops in Edison who is not evilly corrupted, and also helps along with Ll Cool J's Character who is also an honest cop as he try's to tear down their empire.I don't want to spoil anything because there are twists and I don't want to ruin it, but they are cool, and the movie gets pretty action packed toward the end which I will not spoil.Overall a pretty good action-thriller that is worth seeing, a good cast, pretty good twists and some cool action but mostly at the end.I give it a 7/10. I highly recommend it.
MrOneDay Edison starts out building up the story in a way that keeps you watching. And the movie keeps building and keeps you on the edge of your seat. Until we come to the last "showdown in OK Coral" to much firepower and to crappy special effects with the flamethrower. The cast is surprisingly well for this movie and most of the way it works out very well. And I must it that I am now a fan of Justin Timberlake as an actor. He has a way to make you believe that he is just an ordinary guy who has stumbled into something beyond what he can comprehend. I am surprised to see a "star" known for something else then the movies be so humble in a movie. For all i know he couldn't be the ordenary guy from next door.
freakfire-1 This movie has some interesting things in common with a certain Tom Cruise film. That film, entitled Minority Report, is about a huge police agency that is supposed to prevent crime from happening. Here, its a special agency that patrols a city with a certain brand of martial law. Not entirely similar, but enough to recognize.Timberlake gives enough of a performance to show he isn't just a music performer. His pairing with Morgan Freeman was alright, but I thought they didn't compliment each other enough. Plus, Freeman seems withdrawn for much of the movie and didn't provide enough of a backdrop on him.The ending was predictable to me and the tactics were common in these movies. It was an old formula with descent results. So have a go at it if you must. But that Timberlake likes the ladies. "C+"
Angelus2 Edison City is home to .F.R.A.T.; a elite group of officers who bring down the drug dealers of Edison; only the power they have been given turns them all into corrupt officers. Except for LL Cool J.Cool meets JT during a court case and soon JT is convinced about .F.R.A.T. corruption and uncovers a city wide conspiracy with terrifying consequences.LL Cool J plays the role of the man battling his conscience and gives a good performance while Justin does a good job as a young reporter.Kevin Spacey is always a bonus when he plays any type of role, while Morgan Freeman does a good job as the reporters boss. The film picks up towards the end; but watching this film I kept thinking, this would be great as a TV show.A good film with a promising cast. The reason I gave it a seven because a lot of people will dismiss this film because of the two leads, Justin Timberlake and LL Cool J; singer and rapper turned actors, both both do hold their own against screen veterans.
