Inclubabu Plot so thin, it es unnoticed.
Blucher One of the worst movies I've ever seen
HeadlinesExotic Boring
Lancoor A very feeble attempt at affirmatie action
exphunter One of my all time favorite movies, the performances are outstanding by everyone. Special mention to Paddy Considine, Toby Kebbel , Jo Hartley, Stuart Wolfenden, Paul Hurstfield and Neil Bell. An Amazing story of revenge. Paddy Considine is always fantastic, Toby Kebbel does an amazing job at playing a mentally disabled teen, Jo Hartley gives an truly emotional performance during the story telling scene on the stairs, Stuart Wolfenden is great throughout the whole movie, Paul Hurstfield gives us a terrific haunted regretful character, Neil Bell does a outstanding performance of a OD-ing drug . Another of my favorites with Paddy Considine is 'The Girl With All The Gifts (2016) , it is not a revenge film but it is an awesome movie. There is a book of the same title on which the movie is based upon.
Esteban10 When I read the synopsis, I expected a classic revenge story. Boy was I wrong. This is, indeed, a tale of revenge, but it deglamorizes it and shows that it's not satisfying, and that it does not produce a sense of completeness. Revenge is dark, bitter, and can make you become the very thing you brought your revenge upon. The acting and directing is superb, and there is a surreal feel sometimes that makes the story truly universal. This could take place anywhere in the world and still bring the same message. The revenge in this movie only exposes the true nature of its perpetrator, a nature he himself is not able to live with. It ended as it was supposed to end, and I have to say this is a nearly flawless movie. Unfortunately, I think it would be hard to watch it again. Nobody likes being punched twice in the stomach.
Glenn Walsh Probably the best way to recommend Dead Man's Shoes is to say that it rewards repeated viewing even after you know there's a twist in the tale. This is low-budget film-making at its best, there really isn't anything that could be improved. From the music and location to the engaging characterisation and plot, this is simply a great British film.
adrian_rawling To use the word masterpiece would be an understatement. This film will stay with you for the rest of your life. Paddy Considine gives one of the greatest acting performances of all time. No word of a lie - he is phenomenal. The screenplay is as close to perfection as you'll find. The characters seem very familiar - the kind of people you will have come across at one time or another, especially if you grew up in Northern England. My only disappointment is that Richard doesn't make the scumbags suffer even more for their depraved actions, but his redemption still satisfies as the heinous past events gradually unfold to build a fitting climax. "God will forgive them. He will forgive them and allow them into Heaven...I can't live with that." So quotable. So realistic. So powerful. A must watch.
