Karry Best movie of this year hands down!
Evengyny Thanks for the memories!
Cathardincu Surprisingly incoherent and boring
Arianna Moses Let me be very fair here, this is not the best movie in my opinion. But, this movie is fun, it has purpose and is very enjoyable to watch.
zemboy I can't believe how many good reviews this movie has gotten from other people. Anybody who enjoys this film MUST absolutely hate women in general and enjoy seeing them portrayed as mean-spirited scandal mongers. In my 75 years of life I have never seen as many rotten women as I see in this one movie. The only nice things about the movie are the child and her dog. Skip this unless unless you hate women.
daoldiges I'd heard small bits about this film and mostly from its many irers, so I was looking forward to checking it out myself. There is quite a bit to enjoy, the tight and often times witty dialogue, along with solid performances by an overall wonderful cast are definitely to this films credit. That the focus seems to be on the most negative female stereotypes and cliches is disappointing and does get a little tiring after a while. Despite some reservations I do think this film is worth checking out though.
pdortic This all female cast creates a groundbreaking hilarious film. Numerous women all get intertwined together in a series of scandals and divorces. All the actresses are great and play their roles very well. They all have their very own distinct personalities that fit them to perfection. Its easy to relate to almost any female. When they discuss the color "jungle red" as the "newest color" it sounds like my very own nail salon telling me all about their new products. It is still comparable to even modern day society even when this movie was created in 1939. The "trials and tribulations" that these women go through throughout the movie is still what some women face in their own towns and husbands. This is a great whirlwind of comedy and it is sure to brighten almost anyone's day.
caitlinestes George Cukor's film, The Women, has an unusual cast for the time….ALL Women! Even though they talk about men they are never shown which is very interesting. The color used during the fashion show was very unique and added contrast going from black and white to color. The story has so many twists and turns that keeps you on your toes and many unexpected events. The film has a lot of humor between all of the women and of course a lot of drama. I really liked this film because of the all women cast. It gave it a different feel and let women stand on their own.
