Howling III: The Marsupials Audience Reviews 2k6l2j

Incannerax What a waste of my time!!!
Stevecorp Don't listen to the negative reviews
AutCuddly Great movie! If you want to be entertained and have a few good laughs, see this movie. The music is also very good,
Sanjeev Waters A movie that not only functions as a solid scarefest but a razor-sharp satire.
nightroses This has got to be a really funny film. Sorry but I couldn't take it that seriously. One minute the film was being comedic and the next it was serious. The storyline was quite cheesy and daft. The idea of a lycanthrope village with Tazmanian Wolf werewolves living in it was a dump, as everyone lacked basic needs to survive. How did they last so long? They appear the victims throughout the film, as the new mother with her were baby is so cute and escape the hunters was tense. The amusing scene of the werewolf ballerina, the shaman, the hunters debating like kids, the nuns, the nod to the first movie and the silliness of the whole film. It wasn't a crap film, it was just smelly cheese.
Rainey Dawn This one does not really follow in suit with The Howling 1 & Part 2 - even they were very different from one another. Howling 3 takes us on a government chase trying to find these lycanthropes. This clan can have sex with humans, they have pups that they carry in their pouches similar to a kangaroo - and why not they are an Australian clan and they have ties with a Russian clan. The film gets scattered with it's story telling, as if they just filmed some ideas then threw them together to complete the movie. But it is a rather fun movie to watch - unintentionally funny at times. If you are into werewolves it's worth a watch - but really for only those that are really into lycanthropes.5/10
waltermwilliams I've interviewed the director of this movie, Philippe Mora, and he's a top bloke, but this is not his finest hour. The thin plot is that werewolves have evolved from Tassie Tigers down under and are being hunted to extinction. Set mostly in Sydney, Australia from the 80's so you have to forgive it a lot for the fashion, music, sfx etc. How they signed up Barry Otto, Frank Thring, Barry Humphries and Michael Pate is a miracle. Picture Alien marsupials bursting out of bellies and into pouches. #nuffsaid
Michael_Elliott Howling III (1987) * 1/2 (out of 4) The third film in the series has no connection to the first two so this here works best as a standalone episode or at least a different werewolf film that has the "HOWLING" tied in for commercial reasons. There are two stories going on here with the first being a scientist trying to figure out if the werewolf footage his grandfather shot in 1905 is actually a real wolf. The second story deals with a young woman breaking away from her family but this isn't your typical woman, she's actually a werewolf. Soon the two stories come together and the end result just isn't very good. HOWLING III has a pretty poor reputation and a lot of this seems to be from fans who simply don't like the fact that this film has no real connection to the first two movies. I can see how that might be disappointing to people but the real issue is the story itself, which is just silly and never really makes too much sense. This entire thing is more Oxploitation than anything else as we get some pretty silly sequences that pop up out of nowhere and don't go anywhere. I think the highlights of the film has to be the pregnant woman giving birth to a werewolf baby and of course since we're talking Australia you have to have her carry the baby around in her pouch just like a kangaroo. These scenes are just so outrageous that you can't help but smile at them and wish the entire film was about these patches. There's no question that the film goes for many laughs and I think this is part of the problem. It seems to try and be more like the first film in the series but there's simply nothing clever going on here. The performances aren't too bad but these aren't what people come to see. For a horror film there's really no scares and for a horror film of the 80s there's not any gore either.
