The Care Bears Movie Audience Reviews v2v34

Melanie Bouvet The movie's not perfect, but it sticks the landing of its message. It was engaging - thrilling at times - and I personally thought it was a great time.
Scotty Burke It is interesting even when nothing much happens, which is for most of its 3-hour running time. Read full review
Raymond Sierra The film may be flawed, but its message is not.
Cody One of the best movies of the year! Incredible from the beginning to the end.
Eric Stevenson I guess I'm right in the middle for this one, because it seems to at least represent the Care Bears franchise well. I think I may have been a fan of this when I was really little, but I've mostly just forgotten about it. I'll give the series credit for being better than something like Barney. It does have more of a plot and characters. I actually found the animation in this to be pretty good. It does seem to vary in some areas. It's like different animators worked on it. So this movie's plot is that a guy named Mr. Cherrywood is telling the story about how a kid named Nicolaus found an evil magic book and became good with help from the Care Bears.Yeah, it's pretty dopey, but if you do have little kids who are fans of the series, then honestly, I think you can probably show it to them. It's just nothing too memorable. It does get rather silly at the end when Nicolaus has this evil voice. It did entertain me with how it was trying to be serious with this silly design. The plot's pretty dumb. It features one of the kids being given a key he has to keep safe. In the end, the villain destroys it...only for another key to be easily made. Uh, what was the point of that? This introduces the Care Bear cousins which at least expands onto the mythology a bit. **
TheLittleSongbird I loved the first and second movies as a kid. I know people dislike the Care Bears, but while I can understand why, I do think some of the hate goes a little too far. Saying they're rather saccharine is understandable, to some extent they are, but calling them evil is stretching it. I still love this movie, if not as much as when I was 6 or so. The dialogue is cheesy, which was kind of what I was expecting but a lot compensates. The voice acting is terrific, especially from Mickey Rooney and Jackie Burroughs, and the characters while saccharine to some extent are likable such as adorable Grumpy Bear and the villain while not as scary as DarkHeart from the second movie is just as memorable. The animation is surprisingly good, colourful and fluid, and the songs, while none come to the Forever Young(the single best song of any of the Care Bears movies)standard, are sweet and catchy. The story is charming and has its heart in the right place, skipping along nicely with good messaging and a nice array of childhood innocence. All in all, I loved this movie and still do, it's far from the best movie I've seen, but it is sweet, charming and a breath of fresh air. 8.5/10 Bethany Cox
Tracy_Terry_Moore Colorful albeit syrupy story of a collection of sweet-as-punch bears who visit Earth via their 'Rainbow Rescue Beam' (Earth apparently needs to be 'rescued' from something) in order to deliver their feelings of love and friendship on unsuspecting humans.Movie purports itself to be about sharing and caring but there are undertones of satanism and witchcraft as a book spirit tries to get earthling children to reject the advances of the loving bear race. The best thing about this film may be the vast array of colors in the animation; the 'love and sharing' aspects become somewhat weary after the first half-hour.A Nelvana production.
Sailor Chibi The Care Bears movie is basically about teaching children to be comionate; to use their words to talk about their problems instead of keeping it inside. It encourages children to be empathetic and kind when it comes to other people, that good can often triumph over bad if people work together, and that there is always room for a miracle.Personally, I grew up watching pretty much only the Care Bears, and I think it helped me a great deal. I have no interest in violent video games, movies or shows. They simply don't appeal to me. I am also a sensitive person by nature, and I attribute that to watching the Care Bears as a child. Their lessons had a deep imprint on me.I definitely think this movie should be seen by all people at least once. I it, compared to today's degree of shows, the movie fails, but once you actually get into watching it, you don't even notice it anymore. Someday, when I have children, they will definitely be watching this movie!
