Evil Aliens Audience Reviews 12fr

CommentsXp Best movie ever!
DipitySkillful an ambitious but ultimately ineffective debut endeavor.
Quiet Muffin This movie tries so hard to be funny, yet it falls flat every time. Just another example of recycled ideas repackaged with women in an attempt to appeal to a certain audience.
Lela The tone of this movie is interesting -- the stakes are both dramatic and high, but it's balanced with a lot of fun, tongue and cheek dialogue.
crapper It is what it is and I'm glad off it. It's a funny movie with some proper viz style humour. Nothing is serious, it's all tongue in cheek and played for a laugh. The characters while not in-depth portraits are still likable... the stoner sound op, the coke head media ditz, the over top drama queen, the crazy bachelor farmers who live together, only speak Welsh and love (literally) their cattle. Most of the actors are recognizable if you watch a lot of cheap UK satellite TV. A great appearance from Norman Lovett (Holly from Red Dwarf) as a hard pressed peddler of sleazy satellite TV programs. Some of the special FX are pretty good. They could easily have made another movie. It could have been another po-faced bore typical of the sci-fi channel but instead it was something different, original and funny. A good one for a few lads with some beers, a bit of smoke and a pizza or two.
axlrhodes Evil Aliens owes a huge debt to Peter Jacksons early films Bad Taste and Braindead.I must confess to never enjoying those films particularly and i say the same about this.Jake West is a director who clearly lacks inspiration of his own and chooses to steal from those whom he looks up to.I lost count of the amount of times a major Hollywood film was quoted most notably James Camerons Aliens. The amount of blood and gore on show here isn't funny either, the latter end of the film becomes tired and dragged out.Maybe it would have worked better as a short film. The actors a poor, the direction is weak and the plot is non existent.I can see what the director was trying to do,the homage he was trying to pay,but others have done the same thing a lot better than presented here. 4/10
innocuous It's difficult to describe the tone of this movie, which walks somewhere between "Shaun of the Dead" and "An American Werewolf in London". As other reviewers have stated, it is perhaps most similar to Peter Jackson's "Brain Dead"/"Dead/Alive". If you like this genre, you'll probably love the movie. If you don't, you won't get the humor and the whole thing will seem infantile and disgusting.I'm not sure what the budget was for EA, but the director and producers did a pretty good job for what they had to work with. The CGI alien ships are a bit distracting, but the CGI crashes and explosions are pretty hi-quality. The practicals aren't bad either, though you wonder if it's really that easy to pull arms and legs off (TFIC).The homages to other films come about every three minutes, so you do have to decide if you're going to consider them to be rip-offs or loving tips of the hat. I personally think it would make for a great drinking game..."OK, that's from 'Evil Dead' so everyone take a shot." The acting is about par for these types of films, but much better than most modern B-film horror. The Welsh farmers are hilarious.Check it out. My girlfriend would just roll her eyes at it, but I've watched it three times and it remains consistently interesting and hilarious.
screwgrapes This is the kinda movie one has to watch with a group of people to laugh at the goofiness. There are a lot of small things that you wouldn't be able to laugh at without a group of people. Thiss is a very goofy movie so don't take it seriously. ONe must go into it with a open mind. IT is also a little bloody which is a plus. THis is defiantly not for the squeamish. The opening scene is pretty disgusting with a couple getting abducted by aliens. Im not gonna spoil it for you but I think you have an idea about wat goes o9n in alien abductions. Some of the worst actors in this movie which makes it even more goofy. I would recommend this movie. Have fun!
