Nessieldwi Very interesting film. Was caught on the premise when seeing the trailer but unsure as to what the outcome would be for the showing. As it turns out, it was a very good film.
CrawlerChunky In truth, there is barely enough story here to make a film.
Sabah Hensley This is a dark and sometimes deeply uncomfortable drama
Hattie I didn’t really have many expectations going into the movie (good or bad), but I actually really enjoyed it. I really liked the characters and the banter between them.
Syl The film was based on the play, "Colored Eggs," by Daniel Wright. Lauren Holly played a woman with cancer and a past. Faye Dunaway played a cantankerous older woman who also has cancer. The film is based on the cancer unit at a hospital ward. Lauren Holly's character Amber directed an Easter pageant for the children entitled "Colored Eggs." Tom Skerrit played an irer of Faye's character. There is a strong ing cast like Edie McClurg as the nurse and Janet Carroll. The film is depressing at times. Faye's character seems to fight the cancer with all she's got. There are touching moments but weird to have wedding in a cemetery. Faye's character likes cemeteries. The hospital must be next to one according to the story. The film is set between the cemetery and the hospital ward.
m_hull00 I hate movies that have to be ruined by cursing. This could have been a good movie, however I will never know because I had to turn it off within the first 10 minute because there were 3 curse words already at that point! I have children, and usually check all movies out on dove.org but this one was not listed, so I took a chance on it. Not a good idea. I don't have much more to say about this film however apparently it is a rule to have at least ten lines. The only reason I am writing this is for people like me who may be trying to find out if this is something clean before watching and wasting time and money. So if that's you, no this not a clean movie. Save your time and money and skip this one.
jojamantoja If you're in the mood for a good dosage of tears and laughs, "Colored Eggs" finds a perfect balance and delivers powerful performances by Faye Dunaway and Lauren Holly. This is the best Dunaway work I've seen in years and certainly Holly's finest moment in a dramatic role to date. Director Martin Guigui portrays a "Robert Altman" like world of eccentric and soulful behavior, by tastefully utilizing the inevitable pains of facing cancer head on and opening a window full of hope and desire to live each day to the fullest. Edie McClurg is wonderful in her portrayal of the kind hearted Nurse with perpetual intent to help her patients to no avail. The characters of the Baptist women, led by veteran actress Janet Carol, serve up great comic relief. Cool cameos by musicians Earl Scruggs, Randy Scruggs and Rita Coolidge. Artistic cinematography. This is simply a beautiful film.
crbmdb Lauren Holly and Faye Dunaway are remarkable in this film. Throw in Tom Skerrit and Ian Somerhalder and the rest of the cast and you have a touching story with the right amount of humor. Colored Eggs is an excellent look into the life of cancer patients, reminding us all how precious life really is...
