Led by President Richard Tate and his core team of Stella, Cass and Fleur, the pioneers settle in the town of Forthaven, creating a society there alongside expeditionaries Mitchell and Jack. Having embraced all the challenges that come with forging a new beginning, the townspeople work hard to preserve what they've built on Carpathia, and even as they long for those left behind, there is optimism about the future. But while they try to learn from mistakes made on Earth, there is no avoiding the human pitfalls of love, greed, lust and loss.

Smartorhypo Highly Overrated But Still Good
HottWwjdIam There is just so much movie here. For some it may be too much. But in the same secretly sarcastic way most telemarketers say the phrase, the title of this one is particularly apt.
Mathster The movie runs out of plot and jokes well before the end of a two-hour running time, long for a light comedy.
Ibrahim al-Happeny It had some good things going for it. Good location, high production values, there might have even been a workable storyline buried in there somewhere. Unfortunately, burning a giant pile of money may have produced a better show.-Cliched into oblivion. -For some reason cut, polished diamonds float in the ocean. Also skeletons exposed to sea water can remain perfectly preserved for millennia. -Thinly veiled Christian bashing. It's getting old. -Completely unbelievable society. Apparently solar s are enough to power all this future tech for 70,000 people, none of which ever breaks down or is torn apart in the giant electromagnetic storms that happen frequently. They must have nanomachines that can replicate anything because they seem to be completely self sufficient within their gates. -Completely blatant male bashing. , penis = evil. -Their President is willing to order the wholesale slaughter of entire populations then is too much of a puss to follow through when they survive and are angry he tried to exterminate them. He also promotes power hungry, sociopathic cult leaders into positions of power (which is obvious and even he knows himself). -They completely missed an opportunity to give the bad guy a German accent. American accents (especially southern) are more those of the eccentric cowboy than the cartoonishly evil man.-Karl Marx himself couldn't dream up a more communist little enclave. I'm genuinely surprised they didn't all call each other comrade and fly a red banner. -Lives are lost to gun violence because law abiding residents and even guards at first don't carry guns. This is satire right? Right? -The aliens mess with peoples heads then tell the leader of the human colony they're going to exterminate humanity when they could have just exterminated humanity and been done with it. The aliens are also highly justified in wanting to kill humans considering the humanity they have encountered this second time not only managed to destroy their own planet but are complete idiots. The acting didn't stand out as terrible to me but it lacked anything impressive. The production values were good and the locations were pretty awesome though. Could have been a great series.
pseudoryan With the end-of-days / rebuilding of humanity premise of "Outcasts" well established within the first episode, it immediately grabbed my attention. The beautiful scenery of it's setting ( thanks to filming being done in South Africa), as well as top grade special effects, made it visually captivating enough to continue through the story. Sure, the dialogue was a bit forced, and the acting a bit over-emphatic when needn't be. But eight episodes isn't enough to tie up all the interesting sub-plots and side stories dealing with humans rebuilding society from scratch. If there was a second season (or 'series'), i would be a satisfied watcher! Just my two-cents on the matter....
Josie Martine Why do they keep canceling good sci-fi shows? Oh that's right! We need more room for The Housewives of Whatever, and The 19 Year Old But I'm Tired of Playing the Field Bachelor and Who Hasn't Got any Talent But Desperately Needs Affirmation From Total Strangers reality show. (sigh) I am just going to buy all my favorite shows in DVD boxed sets, cancel cable, and hole up in my darkened living room till the aliens come. This was a really good series with a good story line, complex characters, good sub plots, lots of scheming and deception and actually really good acting. I just found this on Netflix and was convinced that it was too good to stay on the air, so I checked IMDb and low and behold.... Sure there were some holes, like how have they managed to establish such a sophisticated society in only 10 years? And how do they get hi-tech medical equipment? They can't possibly have the technology on site to build it. But OK, overlook the pesky details that really have no bearing on the overall story, and you've got a good show. Which is why it is no longer on. BLAST YOU VILE TV EXECUTIVES!
Nick Note Just finished watching all 8 episodes today. I believe you are missing the most important points of this show. Before I begin though, I want to say, most people today want action, sex, no plot, no story to tell but high end computer graphic action. You know, people who can fly, jump 20 story buildings, walk on water, etc.To me, this show is more then just action and fiction. It indirectly deals with humans and their emotions, lies, dissect, manipulating, and secrets, and unknown answers. If people with open minds give it a chance, this show could teach many issues we deal with on Earth every day. When people get caught up in their emotions, fears, their own secrets, without facts many things can happen. Like this show is trying to portraying, in my humble thinking.Sure everyone only seems to want action in movies these days. Sure there are holes in this story. Show me any show today that does not have many holes? But I believe so far this is one of the best fictions about humans going to another plant to start civilization over.Sometimes your have to get over some missing detail to see the whole picture. I hope the creator of this show continues to Session 2 with more episodes. It just started getting good! I could go into more detail, but most would not read a long thread.
