The Listener Audience Reviews 2pd5h

Evengyny Thanks for the memories!
Tedfoldol everything you have heard about this movie is true.
Myron Clemons A film of deceptively outspoken contemporary relevance, this is cinema at its most alert, alarming and alive.
Payno I think this is a new genre that they're all sort of working their way through it and haven't got all the kinks worked out yet but it's a genre that works for me.
Jay Woodland *** This review may contain spoilers ***A Foot in Mouth: Brutally Honest Review.***Contains Spoilers***When I first discovered this show I genuinely thought, this is a TVS show about an ambulance driver who is a telepath who help the police solve crimes and murders, what were the writers smoking? But I was interested because it sounded so strange, no more odd, no more surreal, no err more orange, sorry.I was right to like this show because it was fantastic. Toby our protagonist is a very likable character, he is very well portrayed along with his best mate Oz. These two characters are the heart and soul of the series. As the show develops and grows their relationship shines through. The concept of the show is interesting and opens up a world of possibilities. Sadly the show was cancelled after season 5, but I encourage you to see it as it is brilliant with some very interesting story lines and some excellent character growth. I really enjoyed this program and would love it if they brought it back. The chemistry between the characters and the performances are very well executed along with some beautifully funny moments along with some dark and sinister plots the balance is handled very well.
rj parr This show is so stupid that I can't believe it was ever even made in the first place. He worked as an ambulance driver and then after an accident he discovers that he has the ability to read people's minds? Really? How stupid is that. The comedy in the show is really bad but that is brilliant compared to most of this show, the stupid plots concerning this mind reading health care worker who can tell what guilty people are thinking and use that to bring them to justice.Avoid this show, it will make you stupider.
utahman1971 Not only is this based off of flashpoint, but its boring. This new episode tonight is just like Craig in flashpoint got interrogated a lot. Man can't Canadians do something more interesting than making cops look like criminals all the time. Flashpoint was way too dramatized, and The Listener is just boring. This is nothing as good as Criminal Minds or CSI shows or Bones or NCIS or Person of Interest or The Mentalist. Heck they are canceling The Mentalist and it shouldn't be compared to this crap. I am not against Canadians, just their shows are not that good.We need more good shows than the trash they keep adding. Even if this was supposed to be U.S.A. show its definitely not.
calgarywino So far I have only seen 3-4 episodes but it is different from many main stream shows and seems to have good characterizations and decent writing. The acting is fine and the people seem real, not too pretty, slick or glib. I prefer seeing people who look real and not like models; it is much more believable when there are wrinkles, flaws and wear and tear on the faces. Canadian and British casting seems to be very good for that. The world and time worn Gordon Pinsent is on one episode, he is an underrated and not well enough known actor who adds so much to everything he does. Doubtless his choice to stay in Canada was to his careers' detriment. I hope I am wrong but it looks like this show was not renewed, typical for many very good shows here in Canada, unfortunately. We suffer from a national inferiority complex which means until things are recognized outside our borders we don't really feel like it is "good enough" to merit our . If the show was renewed I would love to know.
