Marketic It's no definitive masterpiece but it's damn close.
HottWwjdIam There is just so much movie here. For some it may be too much. But in the same secretly sarcastic way most telemarketers say the phrase, the title of this one is particularly apt.
Mandeep Tyson The acting in this movie is really good.
Cheryl A clunky actioner with a handful of cool moments.
richard-vanbekkum The theme is great, but to many secrets among the crew is too much of a coincidence. The techniques used are great, but the script could really have some improvement. After a few episodes I hoped to receive some extra info about the mysteries, but unfortunately this did not happen. I've seen a lot of sf-series. In fact almost all, but watching these episodes was once and a while even tough. I assume the script writers tried to give this season a lot of suspense and I have to it that this really worked out. The actors performed great, so this makes it not completely bad. Please feel free to watch this one season series a I am really curious what you think of it. reg, Zpm ( Zero Point Module
ericozu Well, what's the difference between working in a coffee shop (no offense, I've had the job myself) and working on a NASA space ship? Um, according to this show there is none - as far as personality-types and life-dramas go. Why would NASA send such a bunch of fools on a space mission? Or let such a fool run the mission? They wouldn't and they don't. This show is not only unrealistic, it's pretty darn inane. It assumes that audiences tuning into a space exploration show want to spend half the time watching the characters in flashbacks prancing around swimming pools and locker rooms. When they do get to the ship, again, you get the feeling that they could have just as easily made the setting a coffee shop. Instead of systems failure, it could be that the latte machine is on the fritz. We could change "Donner get back to the ship. Donner, do you copy?!?!?!" to "Donner come out of the bathroom!!! Donner, customers are waiting!!!" We could change "do you always have to leave marks on my neck" to...Oh, that we can just leave the same! This show has a surprising amount of defenders here. Someone even said that the reason the characters are such tools are that "beta" wanted it that way. Well, that is a pretty neat excuse! No offense guys. We all have our guilty pleasures. I just don't see it. And I'll watch some pretty flawed stuff (Terra Nova, Caprica, SGU) so I have a high tolerance for imperfect sci-fi. I'm sorry but Defying Gravity is just downright awful. But someone should try this type of thing again with much better writer/producers (perhaps the Mars Trilogy).
Ray P I happen to come across this show in all places at my local library! The premise for the show caught my interest and once I began watching it I wanted to get to the next episode to see what happened. Unfortunately, I've been left hanging after episode 13 because the show was CANCELLED!!! There have been some decent sci-fi drama shows that always get cut short because the normals of society just don't get it or have enough imagination to believe in the idea of what is out there! These days it's all about reality TV and watching people screw up or who are in a worse situation than yourself or on the off chance compete to win the prize!! But really, have our lives become so drab that we have to watch these other people succeed at something to make our lives more fulfilling? I guess I'm a dreamer and enjoy shows like this because they make me think about the possibilities. They make me forget about my daily woes and pull me into the story. That's what good TV shows do!It's too bad these networks have lost site of that and it explains a lot of why TV has gotten as absurd as it has in the past few years!!!It would be great if they got this show into a mini-series to finish it up.
hotmrkt How in the world did these people become astronauts? On a space walk, the Donner character sees the two people that got left behind on Mars, one being his lover at the time, and he has history with two of the four women that are along for the mission. The doctor thinks he's back in Bosnia in a war zone, crawling around on the floor hallucinating. The physics guy is cowering in his room afraid of something, I have yet to see why. Even the captain of the ship locks himself in his room pouting about something. There is no way that these people in real life would have been picked to spend 6 years together in a space ship, and hope to make it back. I'm going to continue to watch, as I'm really enjoying the special effects, they spared no expense on that, but I can see why they did not air the entire season on TV.
