Protraph Lack of good storyline.
ClassyWas Excellent, smart action film.
Freaktana A Major Disappointment
DipitySkillful an ambitious but ultimately ineffective debut endeavor.
ricewithaspoon I saw the high ratings and thought - hell yeah... ( i watch every documentary about crime/psychology ) i just don't understand. it consists of 90% re enactments and 10% him talking. the whole thing is one theater play. no original material, no nothing.i really just don't understand the rating and can only derive that other reviewers just like this guy and rate his 'persona' that is appealing to them.i like it when the cases in the foreground and not a single person (that in my opinion appears a little too much in love with himself.)the 3 stars are simply for the effort of all people involved in this. ...moving on
jbirks106 Evil lurks within the sordid underbelly of an outwardly bucolic burg in the West. But this isn't Twin Peaks, this is Colorado Springs. And this isn't FBI Special Agent Dale Cooper, this is Lt. Joe Kenda. And the stories are real.Kenda claims to have solved over 400 homicides over the course of his career, which means the show could go on almost indefinitely. We see him in two guises: one is the young homicide investigator, played by Carl Marino, the other is Kenda himself, who appears frequently with commentary on the case as it proceeds. The younger Kenda does resemble Kyle MacLaughlin's Dale Cooper, with a healthy dose of Jack Webb's Joe Friday. We occasionally see Kenda in repose, enjoying a rare moment relaxing with his wife, when the inevitable call comes. Another homicide. And Kenda is off. It's the present-day Kenda, however, who makes the show worth watching. World-weary, laconic, jaded but not quite cynical, Kenda renders lacerating insights into human nature and the criminal mind. More often than not, alas, these are mindless, unnecessary murders, and we can only nod in agreement as Kenda bemoans the pointlessness of all the lives lost.If you kill, Kenda will not only find you, he will mock you, and we will love every minute of it.
Bill Robson An episode I watched tonight of "Joe Kinda Homicide Hunter" showed three Air Force Officers, the Senior officer had no name tag. One Major had only two ribbons? Are you joking? One officer wore a specialty badge not worn in that time period. The other senior officers had no badges. A Captain in the Air Force, had a silver metallic name tag with his Rank on it? (Air Force name tags are Blue, no rank.) His Sideburns were way too long, he had a mustache that was clearly outside regulations, yet he worked in NORAD for a General. Another episode showed a young Vietnam Veteran being interviewed, yet it displayed one World War Two campaign medal, but no Vietnam medals? Another episode had an active duty Army person in uniform with no insignia or rank, just a green shirt. These kind of things are distracting to any veteran or military person. These programs should at least have one Veteran help them get things right.
reliablerealtyagent The main detective Joe Kenda makes this show awesome, Kenda is very interesting & has a knack for reading a crime scene like a jigsaw puzzle;his special ability to do this forged him a career in detective work & his stories of these various journeys is riveting . He himself comes across very genuine ,not some paid Hollywood type which brings an authentic element to this show that makes it in my opinion one of the best true crime show off TV right now . Kenda was born to be a homicide detective & that comes through on screen. His ... The peoples stories in CO Springs where this all takes place are original, they are based on real life which is always better than fiction. Real life is complex and fascinating.....Kenda has a strong presence that is is felt through the screen. The stories of his detective work are interesting, His co-workers who are other homicide detectives he worked with on these cases are great as well, they give great interviews . In addition to all that the actor who plays Kenda on the reenactments of the crimes is hot. I just think the whole show is great that's why it gets 10 stars!
