High School of the Dead Audience Reviews 5p382x

Inadvands Boring, over-political, tech fuzed mess
Melanie Bouvet The movie's not perfect, but it sticks the landing of its message. It was engaging - thrilling at times - and I personally thought it was a great time.
Griff Lees Very good movie overall, highly recommended. Most of the negative reviews don't have any merit and are all pollitically based. Give this movie a chance at least, and it might give you a different perspective.
Yazmin Close shines in drama with strong language, adult themes.
jeremygirvan This woman voices an atrocious, obnoxious, whinny, egotistical &*(%# who does nothing but cry, scream and rant about how smart she is and how dumb and useless everyone else is throughout the entire series. And yet, Monica managed to make this character likable and have a strong presence in the series (see episode 2 and tell me her break- down wasn't powerful). Also, so long as you don't watch this with you mum (and can endure the nudity present in episode 6 - a very funny episode, btw), you'll basically develop a tolerance for the obscene amount of fan-service, which will instead turn into more of a gymic than anything. Also, surprisingly, all the obscene characters actually feel genuinely human (at least, the main characters do). You actually believe that these are normal teenagers in a zombie apocalypse when listening to their dialogue and how they interact. Like in one scene where the main character is carrying an unconscious, naked and extremely busty school-nurse on his back, he states "If this were under any other circumstances, this would be so %^&#ing hot." Yes, despite having super-model teenager samurai killing hordes of undead while the police and army are shown to be useless, the main cast feels surprisingly human. When they're dealing with anxiety (parental issues, dead boyfriends, etc.), how the main character copes with these issues is very human while also being logical and understandable - such as telling a girl to shut up about her neglectful parents when she should just be happy she knows they're still alive.
Rohb Highschool of the dead is pretty good. Can't wait to see SEASON 2 of this series. It deserve the 7.7 rating everyone given it.AND Iam sure there are more people actually like it than the people bitching about this anime.I wish they keep their opinion to their self.IT's not everyone cup of tea!! Boobs and Zombies .. what more can you ask...... Highschool of the Dead is set in the present day, beginning as the world is struck by a deadly pandemic that turns humans into zombies, euphemistically referred to by the main characters as "them" since they are no longer considered human. The story follows a group of high school students, the high school's nurse, and a young girl as they fight their way to safety through the deadly streets of Japan during a worldwide catastrophic event known as the "Outbreak". Led by sophomore Takashi Komuro, the focal group of survivors consists of six others and a small dog, and creating a gestalt team with one purpose: to survive Come on SEASON2!!
luna_elite Okay my first review. after watching the ENTIRE series of H.O.T.D one Friday afternoon (sweet unemployment) i was certain that the time had come for me to put in the time to write my first anime review on IMDb. I will try and keep this as brief as possible, as pretty much every review below 5 stars on here says much of what i think about this show. It saddens me to see so called anime fans giving this show a 10 out of 10. The writing is cliché and sloppy, even for your typical zombie teen flick. the characters are plain awful with little depth, and are actually annoying. especially the 'doctor' with ridiculously sized boobs (that come with there very own sound effects some of you will be joyed to hear) The kind of stuff i would be embarrassed as an anime fan to watch with someone else who isn't, i imagine i would get a disapproving look like 'dude?.. THIS is anime?'. The action is probably what i enjoyed the most, but very hard to take seriously when a guy starts using a girls breasts as a riffle clamp, so after i learned to take it for what it was it was OK. Basically the best thing you can do is take it for what it is and you should have a chance of enjoying bits of it. I did laugh a lot but mostly on the parts they didn't want me to. I felt that most of the time during the action sequences and the 'heart felt' emotional scenes this show genuinely wanted me to take it seriously and then bang... animated ass and titties. Dozens of interesting rules are discovered whilst fighting with these zombies that could have been used to the writers advantage of creating exciting scenarios within the plot yet none of them are ever put into place or followed through with in future episodes, for example, the zombies cant see but find there way around by sound alone, important right?! nope... this is never exploited in their encounters with the undead. there are many more but probably the most important was that the zombies can only be killed by smashing there skull, after episode six this seems to go out the window as they start running through crowds of zombies just slicing and hacking anywhere with complete disregard of the epiphany that saved them from death in the beginning, and zombies are now dropping dead all around them. I watched this series in English, sorry American dub, im British so i found the 'relatable' American gags especially cringe worthy, like a mention of 'walmart cheetos' and a comparison to Sarah Palin all topped off with a joke about Asian women drivers... wtf?? i thought we were in japan. Finally the ending is just... well it just ends... Although i don't think H.O.T.D is as bad as some people think, it is rubbish in comparison to some of the true works of art and story telling genius that japan has given anime fans all round the world. it was worth watching though, because weather i like it or not it seems this anime is becoming some what of a cult classic, mainly to the kind of people who thrive on mind numbing blood, gore, ass and titties, and lets face it, sometimes we all do, however its those that know only that who are giving this high ratings. the reason? they are ignorant to the truly amazing anime that is out there.
Zackery Burgess Wow, this was a fun series. This is why I like comics such as Blackest Night and movies such as Shaun of the Dead(I know it's a spoof, but still)they leave you on the edge of your seat, but your having a fun time. The characters are well developed. My favorite characters have to be Takashi, Rei, and Kohta. My least favorite characters has to be Saya and Shizuka. Saya seems like a spoiled brat, but over time she developeds and I start to like her a little more, but Shizuka comes off as the stereotypical blonde who is dumb and is just their for hert looks. (I don't know how she became a nurse in the first place) Some complaints I have with the series is some things that we never get to know. Like will they get to see their parents alive, did Saya's parents make it out alive, what caused this zombie outbreak, etc. And don't get me started on the fanservice. Dear God, sometimes the fanservice just got in the way of the story. Like if something bad happen, the mood would be ruined by pointless. Really, you have a good story, why use fanservice? From some sources I heard that the artists draws hentai, so I shouldn't be surprised. Overall this would've been great, if only it had more episodes and NOT A lot OF FANSERVICE!! As I said in my review on Ikki Tosen I don't mind fanservice as long as its not in your face and doesn't get in the way of the story.
