Heroes Audience Reviews 274bt

Gutsycurene Fanciful, disturbing, and wildly original, it announces the arrival of a fresh, bold voice in American cinema.
Monkeywess This is an astonishing documentary that will wring your heart while it bends your mind
Roy Hart If you're interested in the topic at hand, you should just watch it and judge yourself because the reviews have gone very biased by people that didn't even watch it and just hate (or love) the creator. I liked it, it was well written, narrated, and directed and it was about a topic that interests me.
Lachlan Coulson This is a gorgeous movie made by a gorgeous spirit.
vesy90 This is for the first two seasons. I haven't watched the other two. I felt the need to stop. Not that I didn't like it. It's suspenseful and interesting, it's very intense, but....there is something lacking. It's like there's a lot of glitter, but not enough beneath it. I don't know, maybe I just didn't pick the right moment. Maybe if I had seen it earlier or later, it would have been different. I'm afraid that none of the characters managed to really draw me in and make me care. Well, I did develop a soft spot for Hiro. He's a cutie. But even he couldn't make me want to go on. There is something off. I can't put my finger on it, but...Well, still, I appreciate the fact that the writers wanted to create a powerful, complex, entertaining story. In a way it is. Which is why I'm giving it 7. But it's just not my kind of story. I may go back to it at some point.
Iwona2403 As a huge TV junkie I can say without any doubt that this is still by FAR. My favorite show of all times!!! I love Lost, Fringe, Stranger things, Westworld, etc but this still holds special spot in my heart! And honestly not only it holds special place in my heart but it also BREAKS IT!!! I've been dying to see all new episodes, to find out all those secrets... Everything behind the company... Everything that Angela Petrelli was hiding.. 7th wonders,... To see Peters powers back and to see him shining , to reveal that He really Is the Chosen One!!! Why did you take this away from me??? :( I never saw that Peter vs Sylar fight from the future.. And I've been waiting for it from the 1st episode.. So many secrets and you just canceled it???You will NEVER EVER know how much it meant to me! I was literally crying over it!! And then you give us Heroes Reborn.. YOU HAVE GOT TO BE KIDDEN ME????? L o L !!!!
ElessarAndurilS Heroes started off great with a lot of potential, but as the seasons progressed it lost its way. I find that the episode "Villains" in Season 3 is a great place where we see the manifestations of much of what went wrong with the flow of the shows story lines and its writing. We start off with the human race at the brink of an evolutionary breakthrough, people who have a set of genetic characteristics in common who start developing super human traits giving them the ability to be super human. As such they can use those powers to do good or evil. Of course even us regular people are faced with the same thing, we don't have to be able to fly, move things with our minds, control others actions or have any other super human capabilities to be evil or good. From the beginning of time we have had the good guys and the bad guys, Heroes just introduces us to a point in time where they do so with special powers. Kind of a ripoff of x-men and definitely borrowing from marvel and their collection of heroes and villains. The problem with the show was captured in that episode because as our time traveling hero goes on an unguided spirit walk (which is never explained why him and only him gets slammed with this because of not taken a guided one) and takes us back in time to when those with the super powers made the critical decisions in their lives to do good or evil. But in the episode they go back a various amount of time in the lives and don't bother to cross check with the story that has happened to date making the events of the episode conflict with the story to date. For example, Sylar is taken back a year to when he stole his first power starting his path down the evil serial killer of super humans to collect their powers so he could have the ultimate arsenal. Problem is a year earlier he was already an established serial killer being a pain in the FBI's butt. Take this and compare it to the show and you have a summary of the problem with the story, it lost its way. Story lines aren't just non-linear and disconnected they lead nowhere coming from somewhere that looked to be interesting but along the way threw in so much junk that by the time we get to the end of season 3 you don't really care anymore. There are no real good guys who are saving the world and fighting bad guys. There are a group of people who are dysfunctional with super powers who keep changing sides and on the way the set of story lines they are important to. The show could have been great, an x-men series but with consistency. But instead it lost its way. I liked the show and thought it had great potential, just potential that got squandered. With Heroes Reborn I was hoping things would go a better way, but after 10 episodes I doubt it. To much of a disconnect from the original series, no bothering to close off any (not asking to resolve everything, but they could have at least handled a few of the group from the original gang to bring some continuity). But this is about Heroes. A show which lost its way. I see so many shows with great potential that are written well and have a great story just getting dropped these days (in the Sci Fi genre at least). Here we have a show that could have been great, started great but lost its way. Some people just don't learn their lessons. Worth watching on Netflix but by the end you'll stop caring. So when you reach that point before the end save yourself the time and just stop watching because they aren't going to fix anything. It just gets further lost.
mozillameister Heroes is a lot like Icarus: the fabled legend of a boy who grew wings, but stared too long into the sun and ended up falling from the heavens.Show starts with an ensemble cast of intriguing characters who form super powers. However, what is most interesting is the focus on the characters dealing with these newfangled powers, rather than the powers themselves. Each character is flawed, and even the villain(s) have their own reasons or driven by forces beyond their control. Heroes explores the depths of humanity without ever becoming too dark. Its a masterful first season, and still the best superhero television show ever aired. However, the series writers wrote themselves into a wall: They gave their ensemble too many powers and deus ex machinas. With so many webs and story lines, the show started to unravel quickly. By Season 3 it became unfollowable, and Season 4 unwatchable. Its a tale of a show with so much untapped potential, only to fall flat on its own weight. With a skilled writing crew, this series could of been the transcending television show of the decade. Instead, it was another show 'demonstrating' how superheroes do not work in television (except in superior cartoon series like Batman) that has only been "disproven" recently by Arrow, Flash, and Daredevil. Hopefully, the sequel series re what made the show successful in the first place, and place character development over showcasing super powers (and avoid deus ex machinas as much as possible).
