InformationRap This is one of the few movies I've ever seen where the whole audience broke into spontaneous, loud applause a third of the way in.
Erica Derrick By the time the dramatic fireworks start popping off, each one feels earned.
Quiet Muffin This movie tries so hard to be funny, yet it falls flat every time. Just another example of recycled ideas repackaged with women in an attempt to appeal to a certain audience.
Bob This is one of the best movies I’ve seen in a very long time. You have to go and see this on the big screen.
The Couchpotatoes After a good first season, that looked promising to me, I continued watching four seasons of this show, but now I will just give it up. It's going nowhere and downhill is the only direction it's taken. The strange relationship between Chris Geere and Aya Cash was interesting to watch, sometimes a bit funny but not hilarious like some people say. The story went downhill since Aya Cash played the depressed character. But that's not the only reason I stopped watching this. The main reason is the very unlikable characters played by Desmin Borges and Kether Donohue. The first one has the same very irritating nasal voice as Ross from Friends, add on that that he's not funny at all and you get quickly irritated. The most irritating character is played by Kether Donohue. I don't think you could make her any dumber than she is. Cringing to watch. The only really funny character is played by Todd Robert Anderson, unfortunately he's not one of the major characters and so you don't get to see him alot. Season five will be without me watching it. There are much better comedies to watch at this moment.
Rob Wright An absolute breath of fresh air in the now newly revived sitcom genre. I instantly connected with this show and related to it, the trailer drew me in and the show itself kept me captivated. Its a highly original, sharp and witty comedy that in its purist state simply delivers excellent well formed characters that are in a fun and jocular relationship that is out of the norm, thus making it new and invigorating to watch. For awhile now it seemed as though the sitcom genre didn't have any strong hitters, (The Big Bang Theory though still running is truthfully a shell of its former self) But no longer can I say that because I found the perfect show for me at the exact right time, something that is increasingly rare in the TV world. The jokes land and are fitting to my taste, dirty and crude but also intellectual. The cast are of a high standard and what's more important is I feel comfortable watching not only the main actors but also the co- stars as well. Overall a show that puts the pieces together excellently and delivers a superb sitcom in the hour of need. I only hope and pray that it becomes more mainstream, has high ratings and continues on for many seasons, but for now I'm glad and proud to have found this little gem of a show.
tgrock Every show sort of goes through a rough patch at the beginning of the show. You really cannot make a judgment on it until several episodes have ed. With 30 Rock for example, it was absolutely awful for around 5 episodes, and then immediately became amazing. With You're the Worst, it takes about 3-4 episodes for it to get going, getting better with each episode during this time. By the time the first season is over, you've witnessed a very emotional, funny, and "real" romantic comedy.Season 1: 9/10 What's surprising is that Season 2 has a lag with its first 3-4 episodes too. After that it almost reaches the quality of Season 1 for 6 episodes before struggling again for its final 4 (an opinion most fans of the show would probably disagree with given the high ratings for the last two episodes). So, what does the show look like when it is NOT ON its game? Its humor is unnecessarily crude and mean-spirited (written mainly for shock value) while its characters are almost completely unlikable and one-note. Now, there is still crude and mean-spirited humor when the show is ON its game, but the difference is that is not the only humor that is there. The show is fun and clever, especially with situational and character humor, and the drama really hits it mark well because the characters become less cartoon-like.Part of the problem with Season 2 is that the character gains made in Season 1 are almost completely undone at its beginning which does not feel earned because we didn't see these character gains come undone. Later on, we see certain character gains come undone on screen, but they don't necessarily make sense to have happened either.Much praise has been given to Season 2 due its fairly realistic portrayal of clinical depression in a relationship. This story line is really well-done in that it raises awareness for mental illness, destigmatizing it along the way--that is until the last episode of the season when the character who was going through clinical depression just snaps out of it. Even though this can happen, it does not feel earned and to me negates the destigmatization of mental illness the show had done.Season 2: 7/10
Isi Dora This show is the reason why I started liking British main roles again. Its cynical, spontaneous, dark humor's been mixed with real issues of the world of grown-ups and all the drama everyone seeks in a good love story; it's genius! It's created for ones who understand the gravity of life yet choose not to take it so seriously. Note: Mind that, as you go along, you might notice that some of the content has apparently been created just for the sake of filling out the episode time- that's why I gave it a star less. Apart from that, it's definitely much more than worth watching; it's worth coming back to again and again.
