Edwin The storyline feels a little thin and moth-eaten in parts but this sequel is plenty of fun.

edwardcooper-92204 Paul Verhoevan's filmography is hit and miss but you cannot deny the man's penchant for violence and satire which when juxtaposed with a great script and acting, can result in something special. Robocop is one such film- released in 1987 Robocop has seared itself into popular culture- Kenny being killed in South park being a direct reference- and continues to be incredibly popular, if a bit dated in effects. (Peter Weller is awesome as Robocop and you must see this one if you haven't already).

Tony Looks dated now as SFX let alone CGI was in it's infancy in those days. But the story, so futuristic then, seems to be drawing ever closer. We were sold the promise ( lie ?? ) that computers and robotics would make life easier for mankind. Now we're more concerned than ever about who controls what.. Data gathering that would cause outrage if the State or police tried to do it, the idea that Russians could brainwash American voters to choose the candidate they preferred. Sci - Fi now is trying to catch up.

yougottrumpedshow Let's be clear. RoboCop ain't Citizen Kane but that's not what it is supposed to be, it's just a crazy fun, over the top sci-fi action flick. Peter Weller is great as RoboCop, the rest of the cast is also great (his female partner, the scumbag at Omni-Corp as well as his boss the even bigger scumbag, the gangster played by the dad from That 70's Show, even the stop motion robot RoboCop has to fight against.One thing I wasn't expecting was how funny the movie would be. There's a lot of great little satirical skits and jokes. Much of the comedy is very dark but still funny.Be advised this movie was originally X-rated for a reason. A lot of the action is way out there with significant blood and gore factor with body parts blown off, screaming and even a melting or two. Do not let kids watch this movie.
