Persons Unknown Audience Reviews 2k625w

Fairaher The film makes a home in your brain and the only cure is to see it again.
Sammy-Jo Cervantes There are moments that feel comical, some horrific, and some downright inspiring but the tonal shifts hardly matter as the end results come to a film that's perfect for this time.
Guillelmina The film's masterful storytelling did its job. The message was clear. No need to overdo.
Logan By the time the dramatic fireworks start popping off, each one feels earned.
Andy Wiltshire Persons Unknown was a very respectable series with a few shortcomings in writing and some inconsistent acting. If you enjoy psychological thrillers this is absolutely worth a shot but I do warn you, NBC made some very false promises that this show would wrap up and that any lingering questions would be answered. Apparently, the plug got pulled on this series after the first season leaving it to the viewer to decide on a lot of the outcome. That being said, it's really not difficult to draw one's own conclusions and enough content was answered to leave one feeling somewhat fulfilled. I will not punish a show for the networks shameful behavior, Persons Unknown was a solid 7.5 with a perhaps even more promising future had it been given the chance and NBC's lack of honesty was an abysmal 1. If you read through a few more reviews you'll see this tends to be the consensus, some are just punishing the show with a bad rating when it was not the writers/directors/actors fault it was so short lived.
SnoopyStyle Janet Cooper (Daisy Betts) hired a P.I. to find his deadbeat husband who disappeared on her and her daughter. She's utterly broke and then is kidnapped in broad daylight. She wakes up in a nameless hotel in a nameless town. She is helped by mysterious Joe Tucker (Jason Wiles). They are ed by soldier Graham McNair (Chadwick Boseman), camp counselor Moira Doherty (Tina Holmes), party girl Tori Fairchild (Kate Miner), wealthy investment banker Charlie Morse (Alan Ruck) and car salesman Bill Blackham (Sean O'Bryan). There's a field around the town that makes the abductees out. There is endless Chinese food and messages from their abductors. Newsapaper reporter Mark Renbe (Gerald Kyd) investigates Janet's kidnapping with his editor Kat Damatto (Lola Glaudini). It starts with an interesting premise but the viewer is left frustrated waiting for the whys. It's a mistake to show the 'real' world. The reporter, the investigation, her kidnapping and her daughter are all problematic. Without them, this could be purgatory, supernatural, a dream or aliens. With them, it can only be orchestrated by people. Then it becomes nothing more than simply asking why and those are limited questions. The show really is left with only one card and it can't actually play that card. In the end, the show loses steam by constantly hinting at the card without actually showing it. It becomes a bore.
kirpo-kakkonen ...but as it went further on... the whole story started to collapse on itself. The beginning had excellent premises, and was something to keep me on hold. And then it happened. Bigger than life conspiracy, murders, backstabbing... Worldwide hunt for the truth and a secret organization that works very efficiently in whatever country. Please... seen more than enough of these. Then the ending of the show. Was expecting something different. But that also a full of clichés.Some of the cast did a good job. Must most, very basic - I'm getting paid for this - level.Have to say that I am happy for no more of this made.
Robert Paulson (qwe_durden) I will agree that it is somewhat like Lost. However, when I was watching the show Lost, I noticed that the story was seemingly thrown together as it went along through the seasons. It really disappointed me in that aspect that the writers had no clue what the whole story was as a plot.In this show the writers know the whole story which satisfies me. At the same time they don't go too far-fetched from reality with it. All of the weird things in the show from conspiracies to strange militaristic weapons, are all plausible.I noticed someone didn't like how short it was and took a jab at the teasers. Honestly I agree it was too short because it was a great show. But it is also the first season and maybe if people take a great liking to the show it'll be able to add more episodes. The teasers however are a no-brainer. How can you take a jab at teasers when normally people who watch these shows do it one episode a week. You need a teaser to bug a person enough to take the time to to watch or record the next show. I'm not saying teasers are the only way, I'm just saying this isn't Star Trek where you can create extremely unique situations out of thin air.Though people might call this a Lost-type show, I have to ask what is a Lost-type show? This is clearly set in the real world with real boundaries that can be broken through. This isn't some middle of the nowhere place where nobody is going to be able to find you ever. Not only that, but even when someone might escape they are still under threat of being returned, killed or at the least continually observed.I give this a show a 10/10 because people underestimate the show. I also have observed the actors and their characters and found them to be complex and moody just like normal people. They attempt to make the characters distinctive to their past experiences. The actors also did a great job at portraying their characters. The plot is a good plot, not perfect, but like any risky show with a plot like this, it is good. I am glad they aired this show because I enjoyed every minute of it.
