SunnyHello Nice effects though.
MonsterPerfect Good idea lost in the noise
Dorathen Better Late Then Never
Hadrina The movie's neither hopeful in contrived ways, nor hopeless in different contrived ways. Somehow it manages to be wonderful
Ian Rupert And by cowbell, I mean more autotune in all the songs. There were a few songs where I could actually hear the singer's real voice and that is soooo two-thousand and late.I give this a 7/10 and it would be every bit of a 10/10 if they only could "Step up" their autotune game.
Gordon-11 "Step Up 3" is about a young man who has to keep his dance team alive by winning the World Jam, as he needs the prize money to pay the mortgage payments.Even though there are so many dance films around, "Step Up 3" still manages to be different and deliver that wow factor. In some dance films, the dance scenes are so contrived that they exist just for existing. However, in "Step Up 3" they are pieced together very well, and the dances flow with the story. The story is engaging, despite a little formulaic. The positivity and vibrancy is infectious, and it is quite satisfying to watch people working hard to fulfilling their dreams. The dance moves amaze me as usual, and this time the extra lighting effects on the costumes to provide the extra wow factor. I enjoyed watching "Step Up 3", and I hope there will be more "Step Up" films to come.
Murli I had zero expectations when I put this movie on and while I thought it was going to exceed my expectations the flat, insipid and clichéd storyline ruined a decent experience. Here's what went well for the movie: The dances: they are unbelievable and so much better than the dances from the first two movies. These people really take street dancing, hip hop and break dancing to a whole new level and it was really amazing to watch the dance portions of the movie It's mercifully short. Here's what didn't go right: Clichéd and jumbled storyline: a dance challenge to win money so that they can have a place to say? A super cool dude who's thinking of others and broods away in his cave? A villain who's the exact opposite of the hero? Which dance movie have we not seen this in? It's really getting rather old and pathetic. The only people who will be enthralled by the plot will be pre-teens, girl's who go "awwww" and cry a lot, guys who go "awww" and cry a lot and the village idiot.Poor acting: but then again did we all see this for the acting or the dancing? The main cast is just below average with the main guy looking and acting a bit like channing tatum, which is not going on much. The love angles: Do we really care? Is there any time spent on the couples for us to ooh and aah over? I didn't care for any of the characters because none of them had anything interesting going for them, other than their dance abilities. Yet, the director and writers added the love element to prey on couples out there but it just wasn't enough.Lame ending: is there any need for a spoiler alert? Has there been any modern music/dance movie that hasn't had a Disneylike happy ending? Stupid stuff: there was a lot of it. One was the awkward dance sequence in the street when Moose and Camille were dancing to an old song. It was nice but really weird and out of place for the movie. Supposed to be a spontaneous thing but it just looked flat and obviously rehearsed. Another dumb moment is at the end when Natalie starts dancing in cohesion with the rest of the group even though it's clear she hasn't been part of any rehearsals. All in all, this would have made a great dance MTV financed documentary because the abysmal storyline and mostly low acting brought the movie down intensely. Not enough focus is given on the characters for the viewers to either relate or to empathize with them. Thankfully, the dances do some way up for the huge shortfalls, enough to enjoy this on a Saturday night when the other options are TV sitcom reruns or golden oldie movies.
stepupgurl I love Step Up 3D and I cannot wait for the fourth film. I love Moose, Camille, Luke and Natalie and the Twins and the Ticks are very funny. If you love dancing and music, you'll love it again and again. I have just been playing this again and again on my Sky+ every night. It's the proper workout if you want to get slim without the back flips and somersaults. You don't even have to copy the dance moves. The acting in this film is marvellous and you can't get enough of it. You need to watch this film if you have not watched it because you will never forget this film and this is a summer treat. Great film. And marvellous dancing.
