Protraph Lack of good storyline.
InformationRap This is one of the few movies I've ever seen where the whole audience broke into spontaneous, loud applause a third of the way in.
Sienna-Rose Mclaughlin The movie really just wants to entertain people.
Edwin The storyline feels a little thin and moth-eaten in parts but this sequel is plenty of fun.
Nitzan Havoc Well, I guess it's my fault after all. I half expected that Dark Days would be at least half as good as the original, and guess what - it isn't. Not by a long shot, not even close. Where do I begin?Out of mere convenience, let's start with the screenplay/story. The sole survivor of the tragedy of the first film had moved out, and started giving lectures about what happened, amusing skeptics and conspiracy fans alike. When she crosses the line and kills some vampires, this new version of Blade Trinity's "night stalkers" finds her. They are presented as a well organized and capable group of vampire slayers, only to turn out to be amateurs and simply stupid. The humans serving the vampires in hopes of ing them are this time referred to as "bug eaters" rather than "familiars", and the entire charade seems like someone has been watching a little too much blade. Very much like Matrix Reloaded, this sequel tried to "zoom out" story-wise, and has done a very poor job. I can't go into details of the dumb things the group does without being tempted to give out spoilers, let's just say they have good weapons they for some reason don't use, take no time to plan, and rely on suicidal instincts after having allegedly done this "vampire slaying" thing for over 2 years. And of course - how could this be a bad film without an unnecessary sex scene? Now let's move over to the vampires. I was so impressed by how they looked, sounded and behaved in the first film. In this one the overused old stereotype was used again and the vampires look almost completely human, not to mention the beautiful sexy matriarch, nothing resembling the creepy hideous monsters in the first film. That's all I have to say. Frustrated, disappointed and yet trying to remain impartial and objective - I rate this film 4. You may disagree. Watch it if you will, but expect the worst. That's the only way you'll enjoy it.
jstpaolo-959-522949 Before I start the only saving grace of the insipid little horror (I use the term loosely) is the beautiful Kiele Sanchez, I have seen her in other movie such as Redemption and must say Kiele must have phoned in her lines cause they weren't worthy of this talented actress. I haven't seen the first movie which starred another fine (Australian) actress in Mellisa George so it is hard to compare if a comparison is required. The lack of a good script, devoid of any real shock horror and the characters were to say the least 2 dimensional. I wouldn't waste my time with this predictable bloody mess read a good book instead.
Fishman1966 I have trouble with this sequel, as I do with most sequels, because the inconsistencies (in plot) are just too great. It took about a third of the first movie for me to get used to the vampires basically ripping their victims apart, more zombie-like than vampire. Then, in the sequel, Lilith (obvious reference to the Queen Mother of all demons from Hebrew folklore) is in charge and bathes in blood, making it even less likely that the other vampires would waste that much blood. I know, I'm just too picky. And while Stella was doing voice-overs, she could have explained how the other survivors dealt with the aftermath, thereby filling in the gap, especially with her stepson. It would have taken two or three sentences, there were only like 3 or 4. One last thing, the ending was WAY TOO PREDICTABLE and silly.
Farb_Tech The movie started with a strong female lead taking it to the vamps. Then a veteran crew of monster hunters shows up and 'cranks it to eleven'. It establishes this premise that it's going to be like Aliens (1986) but with vampires, and that is just awesome. And then, after all that hype, you get a really crap film. The characters backgrounds sound great but are apparently completely irreverent to their level of skills. So you end up watching these very nicely set up characters bumble their way into the jaws of death like level 1 npcs. This could have been an amazing film that just degenerates into a high school movie project.
