AboveDeepBuggy Some things I liked some I did not.
WillSushyMedia This movie was so-so. It had it's moments, but wasn't the greatest.
Neive Bellamy Excellent and certainly provocative... If nothing else, the film is a real conversation starter.
Mehdi Hoffman There's a more than satisfactory amount of boom-boom in the movie's trim running time.
silversidhe I was exposed to this film last night. I feel both like my life is more complete AND like I'll never get back that weird little bit in my soul ever again. I'm not sure I've experienced that phenomena before. This film is gloriously terrible. I'm glad I watched it, despite possibly being scarred for life. "What doesn't kill you makes you stranger". I think they did a fantastic job of doing a terrible job, and the performances were pretty disturbingly well done for the most part, especially the main...guy. I think my favorite part might be the "continuity" bit, which is funny because it was one of the least over-the-top funny moments...for this movie. I was also really disturbed by the number of physically attractive actors in this film considering the bizarre, messed and/or stupid characters they played. It made me uncomfortable in a good/bad/confusing way, which I felt ultimately added to the specatacle.
nathanschubach This is probably my first full watch of a Troma movie, and I thought the movie was pretty stupid. I understand they have a cult following, but so does the Insane Clown Possee. You either love it or leave it. From a entertainment-standpoint, though, I wasn't impressed, and I stopped and started the movie multiple times because it would get so stupid and boring. The music was ridiculously bad and obviously donated to the film. I like watching all the strange personalities that run around with the Troma people, but they wouldn't make me watch another Troma movie the same way John Waters had his "Dreamlanders."Overall, it's a very low-scoring film with me, probably around 3 stars since you do get a comedy sketch at the end with Matt Stone and Trey Parker in it.
glevsen24 I really don't know what to say about Terror Firmer. It is nothing like anything I have seen. Terror Firmer keeps the comedy, grit, and gore of other Troma films and then takes it new heights. I started watching this thinking it would just be another typical Troma movie. Which by the way means it would be pretty freaking awesome! Terror Firmer absolutely BLEW my mind. From the comically bloody opening scene to the comically bloody end it was amazing. Not for the faint of heart for sure. I don't get easily grossed out, after all I am a Troma fan, but I had to turn away a couple times. So how would one describe Terror Firmer. Hilarious, disgusting, immoral, vile, crude, obscene, and lewd. So in other words this is one of the greatest, if not the greatest, film ever made.
The_Pat_Bateman Troma is a hate it or love it company. That being said, I love Troma. They put out truly independent cinema, and do not take themselves seriously, and that is why their movies are so fun. A lot of movies they have are trash, they even it it, but they have over 1000 movies, and a lot were just distributed by Troma. The truly great Troma Team videos are the ones from the minds of Lloyd Kaufman and Michael Herz. Kaufman is the President of Troma, and Herz is the Co-President I believe. OK enough of the history lesson If you have seen Toxic Avenger, and thought it was over the top, you got to see Terror Firmer. Anyone who has seen Toxic Avenger cannot forget that scene with the kid on the bike and the car. Terror Firmer not only sures this, but it sures it on so many levels. Not to spoil anything major, but Terror Firmer pushes it on so many levels- including abortion, exploding breasts, and a lot of defecation, urination and vomit hilariousness. It would be pointless for me to explain these any further because 1) it would be a spoiler, 2) words cannot describe this movie. It is a MUST see.One thing that I really like about this movie also, is how it looks and was shot. Toxic Avenger was an 80s movie and that was clearly evident, but this movie is shot in the same way. The film used, the overall feel of it. Show this to someone who doesn't know any better and they will tell you it looks like an 80s movie. it was actually made in 1999. I do not know if Troma has not got any new video equipment since then (and it doesn't surprise me) but this film looks and feels great. Troma is truly independent cinema. If you have ever read anything about Lloyd Kaufman, or seen him anywhere you will know he is an outrageous character. If you haven't seen him, now is your chance. He plays a director in this movie, and he is hilarious. If you have any Troma Team on DVD make sure to watch the extras because Lloyd is a riot.Terror Firmer makes a message about independent cinema. This is proof films today can still be good like the 80s films. if you are a Troma fan, a Toxic Avenger fan, love cheesy stuff from the 80s, or THINK U HAVE SEEN IT ALL- this is a must see.
