Steinesongo Too many fans seem to be blown away
Lucybespro It is a performances centric movie
Juana what a terribly boring film. I'm sorry but this is absolutely not deserving of best picture and will be forgotten quickly. Entertaining and engaging cinema? No. Nothing performances with flat faces and mistaking silence for subtlety.
Catherina If you're interested in the topic at hand, you should just watch it and judge yourself because the reviews have gone very biased by people that didn't even watch it and just hate (or love) the creator. I liked it, it was well written, narrated, and directed and it was about a topic that interests me.
llb8021 Why was this series canceled? Is it going to come back on a different network? Are any of these actors on any other projects now? As someone in the field of psychology it is very realistic. Kelly Reilly does a great job of depicting someone with this illness.I am also very interested in her cases. Great job on writing the roles of the patients and their cases! It was very creative.I would have loved to see how Catherine's relationship with Ian would have played out. They have the same illness. I wonder if that would have made them better partners for each other. Perhaps it would balance them or make them inadvertently gain more control of their illness.
zach055 While this show seems interesting on the surface, this show has so many unrelated story lines and so many cases per episode, that each case and each storyline is barely covered at all leaving the viewer with so many unanswered questions that they feel obliged to watch the next episode, this causes the viewer to be exposed to new questions which leads to a perpetual cycle of almost all of the ratings of this show come from people simply wanting to get a few nagging questions answered, only to realize far too late that this cycle is never ending. I have no doubt that this show will run for years, but all those who watch it will be trapped in a kind of delusion that they will one day get a resolution to all story lines involved, despite evidence to the contrary. This is what I call, the Lost paradox. And yes, by Lost I am referring to the TV show which only ran for as long as it did because of the never ending questions which arise, most of which were never answered.
SnoopyStyle Dr. Catherine Black (Kelly Reilly) is the top neuroscientist working at the Center for Neurological Research and Treatment. She has bipolar disorder with sexually aggressive manic episodes. Her therapist Dr. Hartramph (Vanessa Redgrave) battles to keep her on her meds. Her chef boyfriend Will Van Renseller (David Ajala) doesn't know at first. Her brother Joshua Black (David Chisum) and wife Reagan (Laura Fraser) are hiding the fact that she's actually the mother to their daughter Esme (Siobhan Williams). At work, she has a complicated attraction to her destructive co-worker Dr. Ian Bickman (Ditch Davey). This is a crazy series about mentally ill character. It's fascinating to see some people praise it for its accuracy while others deride it as fantasy. I have no personal experience with mental illness. Some of the show is obviously overstated but I found most of the weekly procedural interesting. The personal melodrama is also very interesting especially the part with her daughter. The jazz music and her manic dancing is a bit distracting and not my taste. This is generally a well made show about a character that is slightly different from the usual fare. It had few viewers and canceled after one summer season.
andreousoulla I absolutely totally and utterly love this show and found myself hooked from the very start. Dr Black is a natural and i love how she can quickly see the signs and diagnose a patient. The treatment she comes up with is sometimes questionable but as in the real world, if it works for the client then it will do. I too work with people who have disabilities and so far the show is accurate and although dramatic paints a very interesting and enlightening picture of how the minds of these people and react. i also love the way they are portrayed and that sometimes we may see a mental illness in a negative way but if seen from another perspective, it is comforting. please keep this show going! Ratings alone shouldn't determine whether the show continues!
