Linbeymusol Wonderful character development!
Solemplex To me, this movie is perfection.
StunnaKrypto Self-important, over-dramatic, uninspired.
Ketrivie It isn't all that great, actually. Really cheesy and very predicable of how certain scenes are gonna turn play out. However, I guess that's the charm of it all, because I would consider this one of my guilty pleasures.
SlyGuy21 One of the quintessential shows from my childhood, "DBZ" has all the heart and soul that "Dragon Ball" had, only better. With more characters, more villains, and more episodes, "DBZ" is one of the best animated shows I can think of. It's a long sit, I'm not gonna lie, it's 291 episodes, but it's well worth it. As the series progresses, characters change, personalities change, but the ion is still there. Characters are lovable, yet flawed, by the end of the series they don't feel fictional, they feel real. There are a few plot holes, some drawn out moments, but the series is so important to me, that I can forgive those. If you loved "Dragon Ball", then I don't see why you wouldn't enjoy this. It inspires me to better myself, to get stronger, a feeling like I can overcome anything, and not many shows can say that.
srgu_17 The only reason i gave it a 9 is because in some sagas like Frieza for example the graphics kind of suck and the tendency of the series to"kill time" like showing us the terrain and stuff which clearly is annoying, other than that the plot is awesome with minor holes, basically this is my favorite anime of all time since i was in the 6th grade!I back when i couldn't wait to catch an episode of DBZ only the sad part was that the only network that actually aired it in my country was RTL II,but i quickly got used to it,learned German :P and actually understood the series, and in comparison to the us version it was pretty good, the soundtrack was the original Japanese one and it didn't have to chsese lines like funimation does,in other words good ol RTL II saved me some trouble :D
ein2021 First of all, yes I am a big anime fan and yes Dragonball Z is my hands down favorite anime. And let me tell you I've seen quite a bit. I'm not saying it's the best show out there, it's just "my" favorite. But I didn't write here just to praise the show. Not that at all. Here's why I wrote. I noticed that most of the negative comments written about this series all talk about how the show's sagas are basically the same thing over and over again (and yes I know they basically are). The writers of these comments also, more often than not, talk about how they hated the show so much that they stopped watching it after two or three episodes. Here is the weird part. How could they know all the sagas are pretty much the same thing over and over again if they only watched two or three episodes? More over, if they only watched two or three episodes of a show with well over 150 episodes, they have no right to write any kind of commentary about it at all. Finally, one more point. Lets say yes they did watch more episodes. If they hated it so much, why keep watching? If it was "that" bad, why watch another episode? There must have been something there that cried out for them to keep watching. Something they couldn't ignore no matter how much they tried. Something that had them watching every "crappy" episode in every "crappy" saga. And lets face it, if a show has that, it can't be all bad :)
SpasticDisaster I like Anime. I'm not the type to wear a shirt with a Kanji symbol I don't understand, nor would I dare call myself 'Otaku' but I have enough anime, I know quality when I see it (Cowboy Bebop, Evangelion, Ninja Scroll, Iria...) Dragonball Z is just not great. I don't understand its legion of fans. The sheer obsession people have for it. Their pride is in their knowledge of the story. Dragonball's story and characters are its weakest point... That and the terrible animation. Obviously 'strength' is the show's theme, well, totally absurd 'strength'. A typical 'Saga' follows a certain pattern, though not all the following are present in every saga...1. Strong guy shows up.2. All are worried.3. Someone dies to show the new guys 'strength'.4. All hope Goku will return to save them.5. Sub character will take a stand. Loses.6. Goku comes.7. Goku loses. Usually dies.8. He trains and gets stronger... though every time it's 'as strong as he can be'... ok.9. Goku wins.10. Rejoicing.11. I stopped caring by 3 because of the ridiculous amount of dialogue between each point... And because of the predictable nature of the show. The characters lack any dynamic whatsoever, though all 5,000 sagas the characters remain completely the same. Goku is never topped he will always get stronger. Death loses all dramatic function because when a character dies we all know he'll be back. The series is mediocre at best. Don't buy into the hype.
