Steinesongo Too many fans seem to be blown away
YouHeart I gave it a 7.5 out of 10
SparkMore n my opinion it was a great movie with some interesting elements, even though having some plot holes and the ending probably was just too messy and crammed together, but still fun to watch and not your casual movie that is similar to all other ones.
mraculeated The biggest problem with this movie is it’s a little better than you think it might be, which somehow makes it worse. As in, it takes itself a bit too seriously, which makes most of the movie feel kind of dull.
shcirrone I really enjoyed this series. I think it gave a more sympathetic and detailed view of the Branch Davidians. But how is Gary Noesner getting away with inserting himself in the position it seems clear Byron Sage occupied. Many of the conversations purported to have gone on between Noesner and Koresh are conversations the world has already heard happen between SAGE and Koresh. Not Noesner. So while I did enjoy the acting and the story. It seemed to be a more fair example of the Davidians than that showed by other media, but very disappointing that Noesner clearly pretends to have done things he did not do. I have followed and watched many shows about Waco in the last 25 years and this series is the very first time I ever even heard of Noesner. And it's a fact that he was NOT at Waco for the whole 51 days of the siege. He was replaced by Clint Van Sandt after a few weeks. Very disappointing. And I wonder what Byron Sage thinks about it
thomahal Very few people can really tell what really happened in the building of David Kores'h Branch Davidian. But what this mini series really tells is a story about the incompetence of ATF and FBI. It tells a story where it is not "victorious" who has the registry. Something the authorities have had after this incident. It shows that federal agencies like ATF and FBI have not learned from Ruby Ridge and other similar events.Fabulous actors, great director and good filming. And not least, a more nuanced angle on the story of what happened in Waco, Texas.
janalleycat I absolutely loved this documentary. This isn't what was portrayed to Americans at all. Our stupid government killed these people. 25 children and got off scott free by lying. I am so saddened that these people were treated this way. David Koresh was extravagant but didn't deserve this. The actor who played him was phenomenal.
pkpera Only 6 episodes, but with excellent storytelling, great acting. I was thinking at start that there were news in that time about some religious cult in USA, which committed mass suicide, but did not think that this is about that event. It just did not look as that type of sect. I guess, this is not spoiler here, since outcome is well known, what differs is explanation of why it happened, and that's well visible by comments here too. I really don't want to go into who to blame, about Koresh's (alleged) child abusing and similar. He was presented as very disturbed, yet charismatic leader, pretty much insane. I seen Taylor Kitsch only in couple movies so far, and must say that I'm impressed with his performance in this. Other main actors were superb too. There were no needless moments, really. I guess that 6 episodes are right. Will watch this rather again after some time instead all non-imaginary new serials which dominate air this years. Even if this made me sad. Life tells best stories.
