ScoobyWell Great visuals, story delivers no surprises
Konterr Brilliant and touching
Aneesa Wardle The story, direction, characters, and writing/dialogue is akin to taking a tranquilizer shot to the neck, but everything else was so well done.
adonis98-743-186503 Two cops are framed and must clear their names. Although Tango & Cash doesn't hold up as it might used to years ago with it's humor the soundtrack, the chemistry between Stallone and Russell but also the action itself does the job pretty well with some cool references to movies such as Conan The Barbarian and Jaws but also the iconic one liner "Rambo is a P*ssy" which is still hilarious years after the film does hold up in of it's 80's magic which is the hairstyle and the characters who are very good but also Jack Palance and Brion James as the villains of the movie is something that worked very well for it's time of release and even tho as i said it doesn't hold up as it might used to it's still one hell of a Stallone Flick and it definitely gets an 8/10.
areatw If you're in the mood for a fun, action packed comedy with a ridiculous plot and silly characters, then 'Tango & Cash' is definitely one to consider. Stallone and Russell make an entertaining cop duo with their comical behaviour and funny one-liners.The ending is ittedly rubbish, but to be honest I wasn't particularly bothered. This isn't a movie to be taken seriously anyway - it only aims to be a quick comedy fix and I think it fulfills that aim relatively well.'Tango & Cash' is far from being a great action/comedy movie but it does provide the odd funny moment here and there.
SnoopyStyle Ray Tango (Sylvester Stallone) is a neatly-dressed rich Beverly Hills cop. Gabriel Cash (Kurt Russell) is a street-tough disheveled L.A. cop. They are both outstanding narcotics detectives and thorns in the side of drug lord Yves Perret (Jack Palance). They get set up for killing an undercover federal agent in a drug deal and sent to a prison with criminals the pair locked up over the years. This starts with a couple of big action scenes. However, it's not until twenty minutes when the duo gets together. It also seems to be their first meeting. These two are set up for a standard combative buddy cop duo. It's missing the buddy part for too long. The trial rings false and the plea is even worst. On paper, this duo is a fun buddy cop movie. It doesn't turn out that way on the screen. It is so broad (not a pun on cross-dressing Kurt Russell) that it does have some camp value. The Teri Hatcher reveal is fun but this is a generally bad movie.
juneebuggy Wow the cheese factor is high with this outrageous buddy cop movie, however once I got over that aspect and just went with it, its not a terrible movie. -Well yes it is but ultimately I had so much fun not knowing what was going to come at me next in the way of bizarre situations, 80's clichés, monster truck rally's and corny one liners that I have to it to really enjoying it.This must have been really something back in its day too because it employs every 80's action movie cliché going. The "witty" one-liners, the bad music, the incredulous situations, ridiculous bad guys with terrible fake accents, Kurt's big boofie mullet -very reminiscent of Mel Gibson's hairdo in 'Lethal Weapon' actually and gay innuendos all over the place including a lengthy homoerotic shower where they make fun of each others junk in a weird sort of cock-off.Anyways, Sylvester Stallone and Kurt Russell play two rival narcotics cops in L.A. Sly is the wire rimmed, fancy suit wearing banker type -fun to see him in this role and Russell is the loose cannon with a gun in his cowboy boot?! They wind up getting framed by a powerful drug dealer (Jack Palance) and must work together to escape a prison under his control and get their revenge. The prison is the craziest thing; with a distinct lack of prisoners, great showers, the bad guys come and go as they please, there are meetings in the basement, and live electrical wires all over the place.Following their escape the insane situations continue including Russell dressing as a woman then going to a lab that not only has several guns hanging about but a pile of laundry on the floor that fits him perfectly, they visit to a stripper bar, gun fights, bombs, a monster truck rally! and the bad lines go on and on. It's hilarious. 1/14/16
