WasAnnon Slow pace in the most part of the movie.
Stometer Save your money for something good and enjoyable
Kien Navarro Exactly the movie you think it is, but not the movie you want it to be.
Cassandra Story: It's very simple but honestly that is fine.
gwnightscream Charlie Sheen, Kristy Swanson, Ray Wise and Marshall Bell star in this 1994 action-comedy. This takes place in L.A. and Sheen (Two and a Half Men) plays Jack Hammond, an escaped convict who takes young woman, Natalie Voss (Swanson) as a hostage. Soon, they're in a dangerous, highway pursuit by police and media, but get to know each other in the process. Wise (Robocop) plays Natalie's wealthy father, Dalton Voss and Bell (Twins) plays Jack's lawyer, Ari Josephson. Cary Elwes (Hot Shots!) and Josh Mostel (Billy Madison) also appear. This is a good 90's flick that pokes fun at "on the run" type flicks with a great cast and Sheen & Swanson have good chemistry. I recommend this.
Bozo I don't know why this movie is so underrated. I never hear anything about it, as if it's a bad secret that no one wants to get out. I don't see why. This movie was fun to watch. I know, its kind of simple and not very "edgy" or anything like that, but who cares really. It's still good. Charlie Sheen gave a great performance as Jackson Hammond, an escaped convict who is the cause of the chase. Kirsty Swanson was also very well cast as the spoiled, kidnapped, rich daughter; Natalie Voss. Henry Rollins was also very well cast as the cocky Officer Dobbs, and Josh Mostel was good as Dobbs' partner, Officer Figus. Marshall Bell was actually not the type of person to play Ari Josephson, Hammond's lawyer. But he managed to pull it off well I see. Everyone else was well cast for the most part, no flawed performances to speak of. The story was kind of shallow but still enjoyable. There were twists and turns here and there but it all worked out. The soundtrack was GREAT. The Offspring, NOFX, Rancid, and Bad Religion are some of my favorite bands and I was surprised that their songs were played in this movie. I rate this an 8/10, see this movie, it is somehow very good.
disdressed12 "The Chase" is sort of an action adventure romance with some light comedy.it is a case of mistaken identity (sortof).Charlie Sheen and Kristi Swanson play the two leads in the movie.Charlie Sheen is Jackson Davis Hammond,a falsely convicted armed bank robber who escapes from custody. As Jackson makes a quick stop at a gas station to fill up(in a stolen car) the report of the stolen car is heard by two police officers in the store.the officers attempt arrest Jackson, and rather than go back to jail,he kidnaps the woman standing next to him in line. This woman just happens to be Natalie Voss,(Kristi Swanson)daughter of wealthy industrialist DaltonVoss.(Ray Wise)Jackson escapes with Natalie and leads the police on a much publicized car chase, which takes up most of the movie.the ending is predictable but satisfying.Obviously, there is a lot of action, some of it quite intense.there is also humour, courtesy of Sheen and Swanson.much of what occurs in the movie is somewhat improbable but the movie is entertaining and fun. 8/10
Brian T. Whitlock (GOWBTW) Making a big deal out of it, blowing it out of proportion, perverting the truth, etc. That's what the media love doing to the world. "The Chase" is a high octane movie of a robbery, hence kidnapping gone way out of line. Charlie Sheen is Jack Hammond, a wrongly jailed man who believes no one would see him as an innocent man. He was jailed for a robbery he didn't commit. Kristy Swanson plays Natali Voss, daughter of a millionaire who gets caught up with Hammond in the robbery. Unknowningly she was held up with a Butterfinger Bar, she would act like any other hostage victim, scared of of their wits. When they talk throughout the police chase, he talks to her about his innocence. He thinks he's the only one who believes his innocence, his lawyer is the other, and the third one is Natalie(Swanson), herself. With all the , he got the chance for romance. Even though, he's in the car, romancing and driving is way more risky than drinking and driving. When the media twists the truth, and blow the story out of proportion, a media circus is what you always hear. Talk about total pandemonium! The best thing to do is know the real facts, and not the fluff, "The Chase" is a lot of fun, and fairly entertaining. 2 out of 5 stars!
