Humaira Grant It’s not bad or unwatchable but despite the amplitude of the spectacle, the end result is underwhelming.
Marva-nova Amazing worth wacthing. So good. Biased but well made with many good points.
Stephanie There is, somehow, an interesting story here, as well as some good acting. There are also some good scenes
Cristal The movie really just wants to entertain people.
knuthaugdal Story a bit wierd, different is good, bit acting and filming is really b quality studf. Could be so luch bettrt :( Not sure i will bother to see season 2.... :(
sparkas999 Glad I watched it! Sharito Copley as Christian Walker is superb. At first I was skeptical, thinking, how the main protagonist can fight all these powers without having powers himself? But that's one of many underlying themes of this show, power does not come from lifting things in the air, flying or teleporting yourself, it comes from strength of the character and its moral fiber. And I am not talking about moral fiber were you have to follow the society rules blindly (Walker breaks many of those), but more about the inside feeling, conviction of what is right and wrong even if everybody else says otherwise. And that's what Walker stands for, the integrity of his beliefs. He walks the talk. The other actors are on par with Sharito Copley. Noah Taylor who plays Johnny Royalle (what a great name!!!), reminds me a little of Deep Throat from X-files, with his constant chain smoking. But how fitting that is, with his power of teleportation, poof, and he's gone, like a smoke. Watching him, you can't shake the question, 'Is he a bad or a good guy?' This duality is played by almost every character in the show, but Johnny Royalle nails it perfectly. Deena Pilgrim (played by Susan Heyward), like her name suggests, is taking a journey, more like a enger than a driver, but such a wonderful counterbalance to Walker, holding him back just a little, so that his character won't seem to us crazy or overblown. Well, I won't rattle on anymore, every character is fleshed out, the dialogue is not copy pasted or cliché like in other shows, and it's just a great and fun show to watch. Enjoy!
mattda-1 The latest in a recent slew of comic adaptations, Unlike the bubblegum Flash, Arrow, Agent Carter etc, this attempts to the darker more adult market (cf. Daredevil, Jessica Jones) However, that being said it shoots and fails. The acting (aside from Copley and Forbes) is quite poor, though to be fair, the dialogue they're asked to churn out is equally poor. Some of the effects (flying characters especially) are equally dreadful It lacks the ability to draw you in and there is little to separate it from children's TV aside from the use of expletives, (as a hint to the writers, use swearing to emphasise, not punctuate) Found it hard to care about the fate or progress of any character. In general watching beyond the first episode becomes an effort of will and endurance, as it feels very much like a parody of a super hero movie but lacking the humour. Better graphic novel adaptations abound, Watchmen, Walking Dead, Jessica Jones. This......I'd give it a miss unless you're drunk and bored. Sadly it's been renewed for a second godawful series. Hey ho
westsideschl If graphic comic books occupy a part of your life. If escapism fantasy from the dregs of life is your personal savior then Detective Walker (they always have these country stud names) is your newest hero. As usual it's the stereotype of a scruffy looking detective with personal issues. It seems as if the British Bond dapper style has lost its currency. Of course we have the usual partner that's the polar opposite. Mandatory to add enough interpersonal conflict to keep the story rolling until the next shootout. Speaking of shootouts, the very first scene of the very first episode, he did a cop really bad no-no by leaving his then (now dead) partner alone with a much larger and very aggressive nasty looking dude. Subsequently replaced by that newbie partner who also fulfills the series token ethnic and gender diversity quota.Plot: Fight superbaddies using the basic tools (guns) and hope you get your own superpower back.Anyway, lots of cheap effects editing to make someone appear then disappear; cheap bloody dead person prosthetics; really bad CGI of Superman (and most every superhero after him) style flying. Dumbed down dialogue (9th grade ed required). Much better current offerings are, "Justified", "True Detectives" season one, "Sherlock", maybe "Fargo", all offer better scripts, sets, acting.
